Injury Blow For Nasri

Samir Nasri has been ruled out of France’s friendly with Sweden on Wednesday because of a thigh strain.

The Arsenal midfielder was called into Les Bleus’ squad on Monday following the withdrawal of winger Hatem Ben Arfa, who injured his adductors at the weekend.

But Nasri will not board Tuesday’s flight to Gothenburg, the French Football Federation confirmed on their website.

The former Marseille playmaker has been struggling with a thigh injury for the past couple of weeks, although he was able to start for the Gunners in their Premier League curtain-raiser against West Brom on Saturday – a game in which he scored in.

William Gallas, Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna look set to start with the latter two being one of Arsenal’s most consistent performers last season.

Gooner Talk can reveal that Nasri will be avaliable for Saturday’s London derby game with Fulham which is live on Setanta Sports 1.

I’ve been told that the injury is minor and should only keep him out for 3-4 days.

Gokhan Inler most likely, would fit the bill perfectly to replace Flamini.

The person above was referring to Alex Song, I’m not too sure when he’ll be back but Tuesday seems likely IMO.

As for Nasri, my French source has told me that it’s a minor injury and he will be fit for Saturday’s game.

I hope we can see him against Fulham. But we will see what will happen on Saturday. Kolo Toure wasn’t 100% but Wenger has brought him, but he was subsite. So I hope he will be okay.

huge blow in my opinion but u don’t know how bad his injury is lets wait and see.wenger said we would have a new signing before the 2nd leg qualifing game next week lets hope its inler i think we would have a great midfield with nasari,Fabregas and inler .That’s if it happens but I’m really not saw sure about the right side of midfield Eboue and Wallcot at the moment dont seem good enough all though walcott has improved its still not consistent . i think wenger should buy a winger
    as well as a DM
