Ade Scores Four As Togo Hit Swaziland For Six

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor showed Togo why they need him so much as the gangly frontman grabbed four goals in his countries World Cup Qualfying game against Swaziland in Accra.

Togo’s talisman was in sensational form but almost didn’t play after previously refusing to travel with the squad, dismayed at the uneasy relationship between the Togo Football Federation administrators at what he felt was “bad treatment” of the Togolese squad.

The Hawks are still without a full-time coach after Frenchman Henri Stambouli quit the post following a disagreement with the national federation.

It didn’t stop Ade from smashing four goals past ‘keeper Njabuliso Simelanethe, Aston Villa midfielder Moustapha Salifou gave Togo the lead as early as the 16th minute while further goals from Adekanmi Olufade and Adebayor wrapped up a rather comfortable win for the Hawks in Ohene Djan Sports Stadium.

In other news, Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue were handed starts as their Ivory Coast side thumped Madagascar by three goals to nil.

Arsenal rock Toure, skippered the side out and witnessed Boubacar Sanogo first half wonder strike. The Werder Bremen hitman scored his second shortly after the break before Chelsea striker Saloman Kalou confirmed the win with a superb finished effort.

Toure and Eboue were both replaced late on in the game.

It’s extremely good to see Ade getting four goals.
