Nicklas Bendtner has been added to the growing list of injured Arsenal players after the Danish marksman sustained an ankle injury whilst on International duty.

The 20-year-old was handed a place in Keld Bordinggaard’s Denmark’s Under 21 side for their vital U21 European Championship play-off game against Serbia next Wednesday. It appears that the Danes will have to do without Nicklas though, after he was seen with an icepack attached to his ankle following Denmark’s World Cup Qualifying win over Malta.

Copenhagen-born striker Bendtner is the third Gunners star to have sustained an injury on International duty with William Gallas and Robin van Persie both missing out for their respective countries World Cup Qualifiers.

Frédéric Nimani could be the next Frenchman to be set to join Arsene Wenger’s French revolution at Arsenal. The youngster has been linked with a move to the Gunners in January.

The 20-year-old French striker is in the final season of his contract with the Ligue 1 club, and interest amongst the top European clubs is building up to snare him on free transfer at the end of the term. However, Nimani is not ruling out signing a new deal at the Stade Louis II.

“That’s immense pleasure but I’m not the kind to lose my head. Let’s say it’s a good sign, it proves I’m on the right track. But nothing’s done yet,” he added [on hearing of Arsenal's interest] to football365.fr.

“Today I want to focus myself on playing as I still have a lot of work to do. Time will tell.

“My agent met with the chairman (Jerome de Bontin) and for the moment there have been few concrete discussions.

“We should know more about this in the next few weeks, but the club seem to want to keep me. We will see how it ends up.”

With Gilles Grimandi watching many talents in France and Belgium, a move for Nimani seems unlikely at this early stage. Stay tuned to Gooner Talk for the latest updates and news concerning Arsenal’s first team.
