Arsenal’s youngsters sent Premier League rivals Wigan crashing out of the Carling Cup with another scintillating display at the Emirates Stadium.

The average age of Arsenal’s starting line-up was just 19 but they tore woeful Wigan apart with the same kind of exciting football that despatched Sheffield United 6-0 in the previous round.
