A Letter From Nike to Nicklas Bendtner

We are writing to you today to inform you that we are terminating the contract that allows you to wear our new Nike Mercurial Vapor Rosa boots.
At Nike we worked long and hard on the celebrated pink boots and each time we see a player sporting the Rosas all of us here at Nike feel a great sense of pride.
However, here at Nike we believe in sticking to our word above all else. To us there is nothing worse than breaking a promise. I must now point you in the direction of our press release for the Rosas.
“The Mercurial Vapor is the boot of choice for some of the fastest and most prolific strikers in football today.”
While we certainly admire your stand-out confidence Nicklas, we feel that we may have been a bit rash when handing you the Rosas. We feel that though you have a lot of potential it would not be fair to class you as one of the “most prolific strikers in football today”.
We understand that you will be hugely disappointed by this notification but we must act in the best interests of Nike and currently your performances are slowly beginning to tarnish the pristine reputation of this company.
We greeted your goal against Dynamo Kiev with many a cheer in the Nike office as your first goal in the Rosas was awaited with baited breath. But despite this, the glaring one-on-one chances that you squandered against Burnley eclipsed the small success of the Kiev goal.
At Nike, we view teamwork as a holy principle that should not be voided by any callous individual. On Tuesday, it was apparent that you were going out of your way to run around in circles instead of playing simple balls to your teammates. There were flashes of potential, but once again these stood in the shadow of your painfully clear errors.
We can understand some of your frustration in playing in the Carling Cup, but what you must realise is that you put on a display of incompetence and petulance that shamed you, your team and most importantly the sacred Rosas.
Here at Nike we can no longer associate our showcase product with your sub-par finishing and misplaced arrogance.
It is with a deep sense of sadness (rarely is our judgment so poor) that we have decided to terminate your association with the Nike Mercurial Vapor Rosa boots. You must turn in your boots to your nearest Nike outlet and resume play with your previous model. If you are seen to be wearing the Rosas again within a ten mile radius of Arsenal’s training ground or the Emirates Stadium, then you will be contacted by our legal team.
Wishing you all the best on your Rosa-less future, Nike.

Is it true? I’m 12 so I wouldn’t know. xP, Serious, is it?
No lol, it’s a satirical article mate.
But even the fact that you thought it might be genuine shows the quality of the article, top work Andy.
its obvious not true lol
funny tho
and so true
he doesnt deserve them boots
haha nice one
hey Chris still think i was to harsh on Bendtner?
Quality Article mate , made me chuckle ….what an awful footballer this man is…was he pissed last night or something as i felt sick us getting beat by some shitty northern monkeys..the man is nothing more than a 15 min sub, if he plays again which i hope he dosent surely someone has gotta tell him take those fucking shit boots off and play in just plain black normal ones…please sell this twat arsene jay simpson is better !
Nope. And I never disagreed with you on Bendtner. I’ve never personally rated the feller, I just don’t see what he brings to the team.
I hope he has a pink ass after the wet towel thumping he should have got from his team mates after that useless display last night
Is it now have a go at Bendtner week?
I think after last nights woeful finishing, he should wear Girls boots all the time…oh, actually he is!!
good evening all. i have to say i support the toon but always admired you guys from a distance. as much as i thought this was a great and funny article, i wouldnt mind us having bendtner, he would compliment oba very well i feel. maybe a swap for alan smith?? haha.
Bendtner’s definitely going through a bad patch.
He’s shown glimpses of class though and is a proven scorer at international level for Denmark.
He’s obviously got a big head and fancies himself but so do a lot of top strikers. I’m not defending his poor performances and seeming lack of effort but I think it’s worth remembering that he’s still only 20 years old. 20! If his performances are bad then it’s up to the manager to sort him out / bench him / sell him. In the meantime we should support him.
Come on, let the boy become a man, he’s only 20! Soon he doesn’t care about the colour of his boots anymore. Instead he will be scoring for fun, week in week out.
There was a mix up and Bendtner was actually wearing these.

come on you guys, this is really unfair on the lad. Nobody seems to mention the two incredible flicks that provided Randall and Vela with the best chances of the game. And nobody seem to remember that Vela was even worse yesterday than the big Dane. Nobody in our team would have made those passes except RvP, I think.
Nick is a very unstable player, and so are a lot of players at the age of 20. But when he shows us his flashes of brilliance they are some of the best football you’ll see. Did anybody see how he walked past Bosingwa and scored in a Denmark game the other day? Does anybody remember his lethal finish against Kyiv the other day? Can you really imagine Adebayor do the same at the same age? No, Adebayor was not half the player Nick is when he started here. Do you remember the 3-0 triumph over Liverpool when Gallas, Toure and Flamini scored. Ade came on as a sub and was 15 yards clear one-on-one with the goalie. I remember watching the game and all the Arsenal fans were like: He is going to miss it, I know he will. And what happened? He missed it, shot straight at Reina. That’s what he did back then, he missed chances. He lost the ball, headed worse than Crouch, finished worse than Ameobi and did absolutely nothing for the team.
Now I look at Nick and I see a very talented player who doesn’t perform very well very often. But look closely at what he does and you can’t deny the talent is there. It’s not a coincidence that he was voted the best Danish player at the age of 19. It’s not a coincidence that Steve Bruce would have picked his eyes out to keep him at the Brums. And it’s not a coincidence that I like him. He has been slacked off by the fans since that time against Liverpool when he saved a goal. And you will probably all do the same to me for protecting him. But for me, I would be very sad to see Bendtner leave the club. He might not be the greatest player in the world now, but if we sold every 20 year old that didn’t perform consistently, we would lose quite a lot of talent.
People are only too fast to slag off certain players on here.
Leave the kid alone and let him develop
Well said ‘Stone’! This youth policy is gettin’ too far in my mind.. People are kickin’ out 20 year old lads cause they’re not scoring hattricks away from home at Turf Moor.
frustration for playing in the carling cup ??!! carlos tevez was playing tonight for manu…nikki has to be thankfull for that oportunity cause tevez is far a better player than he is..nikki is terrible..as a gunner i am very upset to see him wear the red shirt..simpson is better than him

Sorry mates.. Chris, please del this and..
lmao , Top Class Artical ….
Btw Any News on Enduardo’s Return Gooner_Chris?
..or was it cause I linked this? Yes it was indeed. Interesting this tech.
Why do we continue with Bendtner pink boots or no pink boots. How he ever got to first wear the Arsenal shirt I never know…. He is an absolute waste of space and needs to be sold along with his pink boots sooner rather than later……
Eduardo Though …lol
The problem with Wegner is that its always tomorrow with our current squad but tomorrow never comes…… We need a center half, a good holding midfield player an out and out striker and a goal keeper… Apart from that we are good…
i agree with stone 100%
however i also agree with some of the people who critisise him!
but fear not fellow gooners, for there is a mutual solution!
arsene should send him on a loan to bundes league, french, italian, or spanish primera for one or two seasons. That way he will develop, and not ruin our club…in a couple of seasons he will be a quality striker, i have no doubt about it
Bendtner is wearing pink boots for charity for some breast cancer charity so u might have to delete your article b4 ppl get offended
WTF! IS THIS ABOUT STUPID POST, GET BEHIND THE PLAYERS, BENDTNER IS A GOOD PLAYER HE HAS SHOWED FLASHES OF WHAT HE CAN DO, THERE IS MORE TO COME FROM HIM U WILL SEE ! STOP HATING :@:@
It is hate on Bendtner time. Never mind the fact that take away a fluke hat trick Emmanuel “Money Bags” Adebayor has only scored two league goals. So Nick had an off night finishing, he is a kid. And like Stone said, Ade was even worse then he is now when he first came but Nick still did create two great chances for other players and it is hardly Bendtner’s fault that Randall, the piece of rubbish he is, shot directly at Jensen.
Nick has a great footballing mind and you can see it in his ability to put people through. How many times has he done it this season? Bolton,Sunderland,West Ham,Chelsea, twice yesterday… there’s more, those are just off the top of my head. He’ll be one hell of a supporting striker in a few years in my opinion.
I am an admirer of Bendtner and I think he will grow into a prolific striker, just look at his international record.
He has great awareness and the ability to feed the right pass qualities he showed last night and many times before.
Having said that I think this an excellent satirical piece. please people take it for what it is.
Great post Andy.
typical narrow minded view from this site…
I won’t deny he is a frustrating player, but come on… Stone should write about for your site, he atleast has a measured view of this, not a rash ‘HE SUCKS’ article.
I think stone’s got a point there. You just opened my eyes( well at least one of them). looks like your 100 word essay worked. Let’s see what the future holds…
Hail to the stone (above). This is the type of discerning supporter that we need. Everybody knows that the shock defeat really hurt us, but to pick on Bentnder when we had the likes of Randall, Vella and that Roger kid performing the “Rabbit in the Headlight”, I think Bentnder did quite well. And where was Sylvestre when we were concedeing the slopiest of goals?
yes my friends u are rigth i will sell him to a sunday league team!!!! he dont deserve a place in arsenal team
Tremendous post and absolutely 100% spot on. Bendtner thinks he’s so much better than he actually is. The truth is, his finishing is woeful. The strike against Fenerbache could easily have ended up in the stand. He should have scored two or three times in the dying minutes against United. He very rarely finds a red (or yellow) shirt with his passing. Maybe Ade was far nearer the truth than we thought when he smacked him last season in the Spurs game. He’s had enough time to “develop” get rid now.
please lay off bendtner..yes he was awful the other night and was extremely frustrating but he is young and still needs time to develop..i think he has a lot to give to our team and i think he will come out of this tough period for him..When he came on against chelsea he did a superp job at winning ball and throw-ins..! give him time..i bet he will come good yet..
Nice blog I think is time for bendtner to be replaced with jay simpson as he has untapped talent
BY THE WAY AM A GOONER
AND ALSO A GOOGLE EXPERT AND WOULD LOVE TO PROMOTE YOUR BLOG
SO YOUR ON THE FIRST PAGE OF GOOGLE!!!!!! I CAN DO THIS IN DAYS
SO YOUR RUBBING SHOLDERS WITH ARSENAL.COM
Wenger knows what hes doing and obviously sees something in him, and its just taking longer than thought to come out, ill support him aslong as he remains at the club.
we have enough people trying to rubbish the club at the moment with out us lot starting.
please lay off Bendtner… he wasnt the only one at fault the other night. He has alot of potential and we need to have patience. As somebody said above Ade wasnt a world beater his 1st season either. i remember him scoring against the yids in the derby on a 1 v 1 with Robinson and i couldnt believe he scored. with one big goal Bendtner will flourish.
in wenger we trust
He is by far the worst striker we have ever had on our team. Seriously, I am shocked that he keeps getting picked to play on the first team. He has no touch. He can barely stop the ball. Watch the games that he plays and see how many times he stops the ball and goes backward. He almost never takes on a defender and goes forward. Even when he goes forward, he does not have the skill or speed to go by many defenders. He is just not good enough to play for Arsenal. It doesn’t matter that he is only 20 years old. So what, play him on the reserves, or loan him out for next two years to see if he gets any better. Meanwhile, go out and get a real striker with some skill and speed to replace him in the first team. He is the worst Arsenal player that I have seen play for the first team in the past five years.
Christoper Wreh, what ever happened to him
which absolute moron wrote this piece of rubbish article?? probably the one who was sat behind me the other week slagging Nik off – but then screaming like a little girl when he scored the winner! call yourselves Gooners? last time i knew, gooners supported arsenal and didn’t slag off anyone and everyone. most of you lot should be supporting the scum!
I think this article is a disgrace. Bendtner is top quality, and with Adebayor as another prolific goalscorer, it is one of the great mysteries in football how they are not in the runnings for World Footballer….
Cow’s Arse Banjo. The Pair of them….WIshing Eduardo the speediest of recoveries..Adam the Gooner.
haha…very funny…sack bendtner…we don need him
Great piece of work.Even though it’s not true, that’s just what the dane is all about.he is a flop and should be eliminated from the arsenal squad.
all you new fans should go fuck off to WHL – scum
stuff like this is read by players and is totally out of order.what is the matter with our supporters now!for goodness sake give the guy some support like he gets away from home.the prawn bagel brigade dont give him a chance
Come on Chris! I thought you had more class than this. This webblog shouldn’t stoop down to the level of other blogs by making fun of players. This blog is better than that.
It’s an opinion article by a respected writer. He can have his opinion on the player, just like you are allowed yours on this article.
