Kolo wants to join his brother at Barca – No chance, says Hill-Wood
Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has vowed to keep hold of Kolo Toure despite the Ivorian’s desire to leave the club – and join up with his brother at Barcelona.
Toure handed in a transfer request last month but Hill-Wood says it’s been rejected. Manchester City are keen to land Toure if he gets his wish to leave the Emirates, but the Catalan giants Barca are the team Kolo wants to move to.
The centre-back has failed to hold down a first-team place since recovering from malaria but the £10million-rated ace has been told to honour his Gunners contract.
“They seem to get unhappy rather quickly for odd reasons,” Hill-Wood told the Daily Star.
“I know about it (the transfer request), But we are not going to accept it.
“We are not looking to let any of our players go and he is under contract – and we expect him to honour it.”
Toure is one of the last remaining members of Arsene Wenger’s ‘Invicibles’ squad who won the Premier League in 2004 after going a season undefeated.
What are your views on this surprise transfer story? Should Kolo be sold in this brand new transfer window? Or should Le Boss give him a chance to shine in the Gunners back four?
I think Wenger should sort the problem out between toure and gallas. They were mates not long ago. I remember the game against Liverpool at the emirates when we won 3-0 and they both scores and after the game in the interview they were joking and laughing about who scored the most goals that season. If its a serious problem then ultimately we should keep gallas as toure, as good as he is,, is nowhere near the quality of gallas.
just great ,because off that idiot gallas we lost 2 championships in road ,and now our best defender is leaving because off him.question:why the hell did wenger not saw aguero,lavezzi,pato,and the rest off those wonderful kids,because now its sure he can never buy them,did you saw aguero ,he makes ass five off bendtner and 5 off vela,he has quality and continuity,and that is what it takes to win a championship,we will allways be in first 4 but never win it,we had our best chances last year but gallas took care to bring thing to normal and we end 4th.

Pato, Aguerro, Lavezzi WERE ALL CHASED BY ARSENAL. WENGER MADE BIDS FOR ALL OF THEM. WE WERE OUTBID FOR ALL OF THEM.
Oh my god, there is some huge problems at Arsenal. But if we can sort them out, we will be able to win the trophy.
I think Gallas is a troublemaker, actually nobody likes him, and perhaps he doesn’t like the Arsenal now, without the armband.
Obviously Kolo is very disappointed because Fabregas got the captain-rank, and no he.
But we are lack of defenders, so we must buy at least one (Diakhate, Hangeland, Upson, or Senderos) if either Kolo or William leave the team.
But I think our problem is at the midfield, I hope Wenger will sign that one or two players who he promised.
Gooner Chris! Do you see realistic chance to sign them on Friday, or next week?
i don’t think Barca would bid for him anyway, they spent 12m on that Caceres guy at centre-back.

Toure’s form was poor long before the ‘malaria scare’. It’s time to sell him before his transfer value goes right down the toilet, thanks for the memories Kolo.

The squad has 4 centerbacks available. In my view it is a tossup between Toure and Gallas! Paired together they struggle against the big physical strikers.
Does anyone agree that we need a defensive midfielder most of all? I keep hearing of Arashavin and Arteta. While they might help in the short run. It sounds like Inler would be the most important one to get. Has anyone seen him play much? The reports describe him as a’hardman’ type DM. Vierra like! Is that true? toure was really poor against aston villa, but still i remember him going to gallas and tapping on his head to say dont worry, after villa scored the penalty.
but yeah i agree, we should sell him. djourou has been on form and gallas too, so they are our main centre backs.
i think we should offload toure and get another centre back about 22-25 years old. along with the two midfielders arsene said.
i also think bendtner should go, i know people say he can develop into a “world class” player but… he just slows down our play whenever we attack. i would prefer gomis or martins in his place.

i think the problem lies with gallas getting the armband in front of him ,lets not forget how good toure was and is.if he goes anywhere in the premiership the ARSENAL FANS WILL BE THE SORRY ONES NOT LONG AGO WE THOUGHT HE WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO PLAY MIDFIELD ASWELL and he is the last of the invincibles and he should have been captain he plays with his heart for the club maybe he wasnt shown the respect he deserved what has gallas done for the club nothing but destroyed the best thing we had spirit and togetherness
Wenger is looking to sign an attacking midfielder (a winger) and if possible another central midfielder. A defender is unlikely though could happen, as he can put Song back into defence.

i got all excited about the transfer window opening, but how i see it if we were going to sign anyone big i thought were get up to a bit of news the most exciting news coming from arsenal.com is nordveit is back from being on loan theres our new centre back lol and more players out on loan to be sold at the end of there loan spells ,going by previous transfer windows i can see bendtner ,toure ,gallas ,denilson,and maybe even the goalie ,then we might be able to bye some one look at the last window flamini.hleb,gilberto,justin hoyte who covered our right back and done well,lehman,but we did get nasri who i think is very good and would have fitted in nicely if we didnt lose so many players ,give this team credit though its a complete new team over two to three years and on there day they can beat anyone

Kolo should stay and gallas should go. since gallas has arrived to arsenal, we have failed to win a tropy.
PLEASE would someone tell Toure how much we love him and that he is the heart of Arsenal (like Gerard for Liverpool). If he leaves the family will fall apart. PLEASE STAY TOURE WE LOVE YOU.
I love and respect Arsene Wenger but he seems to lack the skill of getting players to STAY. (Thats what makes Man U strong)
Let arsenal think bofore they sell kolo because as funs we are not able to loose the remaing experienced players who can regain the glory of arsenal back in track.
