Mensah rumour is NOT true
Contrary to reports, Jonathan Mensah has NOT been contacted by Arsenal representatives.
Yesterday, a small-time Arsenal blog posted an article stating that Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger has taken an interest in the South Africa Free State Stars defender.
They also published fabricated quotes – reportedly from Mensah – which said he had been contacted by Arsenal agents. The original quotes stated that Italian giants Juventus were interested in Mensah.
Here at Gooner Talk, we hate it when fans are being taken for mugs, so we just wanted to clear this one up instead of leading Gooners onto more unsubstantiated rumours like certain other blogs.
These are the correct quotes:
“I am already seeing the signs of it as there is interest from several clubs not only in South Africa but also from foreign countries in me,” Mensah said.
“Teams are keen on signing and I hope I will not play in the South African league by the start of next season.”
“I can say that I have had offers from agents claiming to represent the Italian side Juventus, two clubs in Greece – I don’t know their names and all the big clubs in South Africa have also made enquiries about me and they all need my services.”

there does seem to be a consistent theme of Brede Hangeland. Hopefully this ones true, i don’t know when the window opens, but hopefully we can get the deal done before the opening.
bad news. He’s told the evening standard that he wants to sign a contract:
‘The club has been going in the right direction from the time I came here in January last year. Hopefully we can agree a new contract, and then I’ll stay here for a long time.’
apparently hes going to snub us because fulham are into europe now and they are offering him a new contract.. this might be a bit biased but i think he would be mad to reject us as i doubt fulham will go very far in europe..
we’ll have to look else where. Going to be tough because he reaaallly fits the bill

Was there any truth to that Bruno Alves story? Or was that more lazy journalism? I’m sure we all remember him in that first leg against Man. United haha.

Apparently Arsenal are interested in signing highly rated defender Jerry Karpeh from Liberia, he is 6′ 2″.

If Wenger is clever he will sign TEKO MODISE from South Africa before the Conferations Cup begins. He is brilliant, mark my words Chris.. And it would cost Wenger no more than 3 Million Pounds, because that is 3 times what his team would win if they won the South African Premier League.
