Wenger Interview: Chamakh may sign if Ade leaves
Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger gave an exclusive interview to French radio station RMC earlier this evening.
Some of the questions posed to him were very interesting, and as you’ll see below, so are his answers.

Will there be a lot of movement at Arsenal this summer?
We’ll start with the same players. We’ve got a “anti-Real” policy. We build on the long term, a bit like Barca. We don’t need a lot of signings, only if there’s players leaving.
What about Adebayor?
If he doesn’t want to stay, he’ll leave, but I think he’ll still be at Arsenal this season. We’ve got a young team, which is 22-23 years old average, which is maturing, even if it can make mistakes like in semi final of Champions League this season.
What is missing?
We lost all our midfield at the start of the season with Hleb and Flamini leaving, then Rosicky’s injury. We had to find a balance. We’ve been out of the title race too early, which has upset a lot of people, but then we had a great run.
Do you feel the pressure after the season?
People always expect more than the previous season. But I already put the pressure on myself.
Did you think a lot before refusing Real’s overtures?
Of course, because I’m near the end of my career, I won’t be coach for another 10 years. I’ve been at the club for 12 years and I don’t want to go on even one year too much. I refused because I’ve built a young team and I have the feeling that I haven’t finished my job. I’m not denying it will be a decisive season. If we’re not in the title race, we’ll have to build everything again.
Are there any French players that interest you?
There was one but he has left for Madrid (Benzema). I never thought Lyon would let him go this year.
Are you interested in Chamakh?
Yes, but only if a player leaves.
We need a DM, me thinks we all can agree upon that… AW will be leaving this club in the future and we all better prepare for the post Wenger days, cause folks they are a coming.. If there is one thing I’m disappointed in is some of the lack of motivation these youngsters have given this great club. I usually dont name names, but this time I will, and I will name Theo and Diaby, both as far as I’m concerned have been huge busts for this club. Now on other sites people told me “well they’re young, they’ll come along” etc..etc…etc… well they’re not young in playing terms, especially Theo, he has played alot and along side some of Europe’s greatest players, and he’s shown no improvement, well not alot that is… If anything he should’ve been loaned out from the get go and given an playing time in a lower division to get his “feet wet” so to speak instead of thrown into the fire from the get-go; again this is just what I think. Anyway can’t wait for the season to begin, and Ade needs to jump ship, he has a piss poor attitude especially making 80k per week…How many of you would play this game for Arsenal for free just to pull that jersey on over yourself and step out on the Emirates pitch?? I know I sure would!
Spurs spurs 5-1 (AKA- dickhead) I we’d had a season like you lot just had I’d concentrate on your own team (if you can call it that) Remember you were in a relegation fight last season ( so wish that would have happened ). Argghhh man!! I just want to know whats happening. This time of year is soooo frustrating..I need some sort of inside track into the club to know whats going on lol…I am tired of checking up on newsnow every 2 minutes and sweeping the web of papers like l’equipe, bild, gazetta for any shred of news lol…I need my fix of arsenal transfers…Please get it all done sooner rather than later man!!#

Its true what matey at the top is saying.. alot of our players need to pull there fingers out & imo id rather have wilshere any day of the week over walcott on the pitch.. apart from pace what else has he shown?? we might aswell of bought in a 100m sprinter if thats the case.. diaby, senderos, ade need to go & 1 or 2 other injury prones need to be looked at aswell.
