Die-hard Gooner Witsel handed 11-match ban [Graphic clip]
Standard Liege’s Arsenal-supporting midfielder Axel Witsel has been banned for 11 GAMES after committing a horrendous foul on Anderlecht stopper Marcin Wasilewski .
Belgian international Witsel was sent off on Sunday with just 24 minutes into the game while Wasilewski has been ruled out for 12 months.
The Belgian FA were forced to ban Witsel from the football fields until 23 November, meaning that he will miss ten league matches and one cup game.
Witsel accepted the suspension without any further appeal and regretted the results of his action, pointing out that he never had the intention to hurt his opponent.
Arsene Wenger’s side face Liege on November 24th, let’s hope that there won’t be a repeat of this freak incident.
Our best wishes go to Marcin Wasilewski for a healthy recovery.

He’s still not banned yet to play for us, it has been handed over to UEFA, they’ll make the decision if he’s allowed to play in CL.
That guy has been sh*t since he won that golden boot award(undeservedly, but hey the darling of belgium, right?). Too much pressure as well, has been frustrated the last couple of weeks, and hates Anderlecht, and Wasilewski
Thats a shocker but fair play to the Belgian FA for giving it the ban is deserves, unlike ‘he’s not that kind of player’ Taylor.

I think the answer to a “tackle” like that should be that the guy should not play for as long as the injured player is out. An absolute disgrace!!! UEFA will probably say he dived!!!
although it is debatable whether axel meant it, it is a sickening tackle and the leg afterwards brought back the dudu memories.
i found this on skysports and found it quite interesting..anyone that says we need more height otherwise we will never win the premier league should take a look. Since the champions of the last few years are in an interesting place..

its a good thing, we don’t want the same thing happening again (the flamini situation)..if either bendtner or denilson or both of them have really good seasons then we would have been regretting not tieing them down earlier on before we lose them for less or no money at all

He is not going for the ball at all I don’t even think he is trying to get the ball, this is INTENDED TACKLE as a result the leg snaps like a dry pasta stick.
Wasyl (Wasilewski) aint a small Eduardo type he’s a huge guy and I feel for him, get well soon WASYL!!!

Have just been taking a look at out next 10-15 fixtures. Now if we get a good result at city which I am fully confident that we will we then have a run of very winnable fixtures…
Even the harder games i.e. spurs are all at home..
I think if we come out of the 2 back to back away games against man city and standard liege with wins then that will lay the foundation for us to again go on a very good unbeaten run…
I am as dissapointed as the next person about not bringing in extra reinforcements but if we get a really good run up to xmas then we can still bring ppl in if we need to…I think Chelsea are the strongest in the league this year but still believe we can challenge..
Lets get behind the lads and really get a challeneg up and running this year..

yes lets be positive as our defence looks such solid. We didnt have such a pair for years and our attacking wasnt the problem for all seasons as we can score from everywhere!! Lets be optimistic and support our lads as I really like our team!!

Chelsea are favourites for the title, but remember around January they are losing Essien, Mikel, Kalou and Drogba to the African Cup of Nations. The last two years the African Cup of Nations has been from 20th January to 10th February. We are losing Song and Eboue, but compared to Chelsea and Man City (adebayor, toure, etc) I don’t think we will suffer as much.

anyone else agree that fran merida is better than denilson? i know they play slightly different roles but merida’s shooting, vision, passing is more expansive and he has a better all round game in my opinion anyway..

Its funny but when eduardo got badly injured that cold february day we didnt hear too much about taylor but when eduardo makes a wrong decision to throw himself on the floor the press act like hes killed someone.. going on and on about it.. its like no one has ever ever dived before..i actually think he was clipped on his right heel..
