i watched the match, and to be honest there was absolutely no chance we were gona score today, none, limited to long range efforts, and crosses that seem to hit the first man every single time… first 20 mins, we looked like continuing from where we left off against wolves, but when the goal didnt come sunderland came into the game and started harrying us, and we had no creative response, we passed and passed without penetration, and without much threat… pretty bad performance, and should serve as a wake up call (didnt really think we’d need a third wake up call by the middle of november) for next week against chelski… not a must win game as its too early in the season, but if we dont take all 3 points, we could be as far as 11 behind chelsea… how different one bad result makes things look… : S
Christ, i didnt see the first half but how on earth did Rosicky and Eduardo both not score those stone wall chances they had? Especially Eduardo, normally such a quality finish but that was dreadful.
Tough game, we never looked in trouble throughout but just couldn’t really get ignited. The flowing stuff never really came today. we didn’t play badly, it just seemed there was no end purpose to our play. It was almost training ground-esque. Traore had a decent game and Song played really well. We never really got much going up top and we seemed to push the GO button too late in the game, once 1-0 behind.
I was expecting us to hit turbo and start scoring as Sunderland were there to be beaten but the longer the game went without us scoring, the unthinkable could happen….ergo the flukey-esque goal at the corner.
A real blow to our title aspirations and this team will have to learn to win in tough places like this if we are to see silverware anytime soon. I might even say that complacency cost us here. However, the combination of the interlull, new faces blah blah blah, being away from home cost us the points-still a championship winning side walks home with all 3 pts from a game like this.
cause diaby play if was ramsey i think we did’t lose
we missed diaby n rvp 2day
Hate to say it but we actually missed Diaby physical presence in the middle yesterday. Hope he is fit for Chavski
Also thought Ramsey had a poor game today, but the lad is young and learning and this game will be a learning curve for him. Eduardo, as far as I’m concerned has done bugger all so far this year. he really neeeds to find some form, desperately.
But i want to focus on the positives. The title is niether won nor lost in November, all this hype about Chelsea being so good will wither away. They will loe more games, as will Manchester United us and Liverpool. Lets face it, we are in a position to win the league this year, think about last year, we were in the process of falling to our 4th defeat to Stoke. We are a much better team this year.
spot on mate. lets see the positives and it will begin on next sunday.
i dun think we missed neone..if eduardo and song link up wouldve worked , then everyone would have been saying that this is wat rvp lacks or sumthing like that…the fact is that we were unlucky to play a tough fixture like this one away from home immdetaily after the intl break..all others played at home….i think we’re doing well…..but yah i’ll agree that sometimes the players lack a little urgency which does cost us…..but theres no need to panic as someone above rightly said , chelsea and united will lose away games too…they’ve both definitely played more home games than we have…so this is gonna turn around…jus keep the faith!!
wuz dat inglush?
1. we lacked desire.
2. ramsey held the ball too much. turned and twisted and lost the ball all the time. he being substituted early vindicated this. he burdened song.
3. nasri should have been in the middle. he is at his best when driving forward from the middle, dribbling and passing around.
4. vela or walcott could have started. granted, they are small but once or twice, they will dribble or run around defenders.
5. we miss RvP. he is tenacious, determined. if he cant receive the ball, he would come down to the middle to carry or help the midfielders pass the ball. he scores and he assist. he shoots all the time, giving confidence to himself and the others to try and attack. his positioning is very good. he readies himself for passes from cesc. dudu lacked this.
almunia
sagna – willie G – Verminator – traore
cesc – song – nasri
walcott/rosicky – arsh4vin – vela/dudu
6. front 3 rotate every 5-10 minutes.
7. everyone played for themselves today. didnt seem liked to pass. if pass, the passes were crap.
deja vu from last year … lots of posession, no finish; miss the large presence at striker as target … does the name Chamakh ring a bell as cheap cover..
I dont see it to negative at all. Yes we should have won and yes the desire wasnt there but we will beat the chavs on sunday and with one game in hand we are still in the race for the title. Chelski will also struggle in jan-feb cause some of their best players will move to ACN. We have beaten Wolves 4-1 away. Yesterday it showed we missed Diaby and RVP but Dudu will be back to his best until sunday. I am really convinced about that. Ramsey didnt look good yesterday but come on the boy is just 18 and was tired you could see that. We will even be stronger now!!! Come on all you gooners and support our beloved team next sunday. We will win this game with a clean sheet.

When your holding midfielder is your best player by some margin it hasn’t been the best of days, I have faith in Eduardo but I am beginning to worry that he is going to take too long to shake the rust off, he missed a very good chance Song set him up for in the previous game as well and the old sharpness just does not seem to be there.
Who still says Song is too slow? On a Sunderland break in the first half (Ramsey giving possession away on the edge of their box) he matched Richardson all the way and still got over to be the nearest player to Malbranque as he shot.
i dun think we missed neone..if eduardo and song link up wouldve worked , then everyone would have been saying that this is wat rvp lacks or sumthing like that…the fact is that we were unlucky to play a tough fixture like this one away from home immdetaily after the intl break..all others played at home….i think we’re doing well…..but yah i’ll agree that sometimes the players lack a little urgency which does cost us…..but theres no need to panic as someone above rightly said , chelsea and united will lose away games too…they’ve both definitely played more home games than we have…so this is gonna turn around…jus keep the faith!!
We are in the same line of ManU, with a game in hand (I count it as a win), but we lost pace with Chelski, and it’s vital to win next game to shorting the difference (almost three games).
We are a solid team, a very good play and our scoring potential is there. Forget injured players, we need more consistency, resilience, sharpness, a great mental attitude (like Chelski’s). Our problems at games like yesterday’s are at lack of confidence rather than technical or tactical mistakes.
We can beat any team, we need good vibes from all fans.
lets get 1 thing straight we are still gonna win the premiership this season. its just frustratin when we lose to these teams..when we can wollop teams like this 4nill on a good day.
international break kills us! who even watches internationals anymore anyway? i very rarely watch england now days there football sends me to sleep! most excitin player on the pitch is rooney..
anyone agreein
and theo if he is playing
! But I am german so what I can say. The only guy I like is half of turkish decent ( Mezut Oezil ). Ballack is the worst for years and the others are a joke.
For me, the most exciting player on the pitch is Ribéry. Germans called him “Kaiser Franck”, he is the best midfielder, and I hope that he will play in England next season.
Currently in EPL the best player is Rooney, I love him. Forget CR09!
come on the best is Fabregas and RVP!! you must be a manure supporter.
if Arsene has compared Wilshere with Rooney, is because of the great talent of ManU player, I support Arsenal always, but I recognize great players in other teams as Arsene does. Some time ago I would imagine a Gooner team with great Ribery & Cesc and I said “what a dream team”, but our buying policy doesn’t allow us having players of that caliber (Ribery is too expensive for us…but he worth it), I’m sure that Arsene thinks that Ribery is one of the best players, despite he doesn’t play in EPL or La Liga.
makes the weekend worse when the dirty spuds win like that ! and then they get cocky and big themselves up ! however good spurs were wigan must of beeen terrible to concede nine goals
FABREGAS IS A GUNNER 4 LIFE!
probably!! I am sure he will get one of the best deals ever if his contract expires!! He is our heartbeat and be far the best midfielder in the world at a tender age of 22!!
