Five interesting stats ahead of the West Ham game

If Arsenal beat West Ham, it will be six wins in a row, equalling the longest run by any team in the Premier League this season.

Arsenal have only won one and lost two of the last four home matches against the Hammers.

Andrey Arshavin’s goal against Hull last Saturday was the 800th scored in the Premier League this season.

Arsenal have won their last five Premier League games in a row, the last time they achieved six on the trot was in Autumn of 2007.

So far this season, Alex Song’s completed passes percentage is 84% – and so is his tackle success.

With thanks to Orbinho & OptaJoe for the stats.

We owe West Ham a spanking for the way they robbed us of 2pts earlier this season. They were also the first team to win at the Emirates in the most one-sided match you’ll ever see with Green pulling off close to a dozen outstanding saves.

They’ll crumble after the first goal so lets stick 5 or 6 past ‘em!

please everyone lets just not get ahead of ourselves and assume we are gonna hit west ham for 6! we neeed to take every game serious and not assume a spanking! west ham will fight a lot harder than they did against chelsea and they stayed in that game for a long time!

Normally, I would tend to think going into a game like this, “steady on a bit!” But this season, west ham just aren’t at it defensively. One of the qualities that I dreaded about playing our close friends was that they were always a hard team to beat.
But this season, we seem to be able to deal with that a lot better and break down the “lesser teams”. Although west ham will try to make it difficult, I just can’t see us not putting 3 past Robert Green, 4 or 5 if we score early enough in the match
    Keep it Goonerish!!!

    @ Odiegooner,
no mate, your not the only 1 who thinks the chavs will get beat tonight,
3-0 to inter, then they can the mancs in the next round! sound good?

    @goonerman,
your correct in stressing “1 game at a time”, and i think we all should take 1 game at a time, we have learnt the hard way not to blow our trumpet to early!
and as much as i want them(west ham) turned over, we need to be compact on the pitch and off it! but in saying that i know we will win this league,

isnt it wierd guys.inter are playing the same way as chelsea played against us when they were dominated most of the match by arsenal but all they did was defend then they hit us twice and won the match.i hope inter do the same to them.listen to the stupid commentators….they are complimenting chelsea but all they do is criticise arsenal.even when we win its because the other team is shit …

I was right. Wenger was wrong. Not all English team will go thru. Bring on inter. Up gunners.

i wish wenger preserves cesc for the the bigger games to come than west ham. place him on the bench just in case things do not turn out well in the second half. note that the next game is birmingham, a tougher one believe you me, though strange things can happen in soccer.
