Team Predictions: Birmingham City v Arsenal

Sol Campbell will start at Birmingham tomorrow after Arsene Wenger admitted that he will not rest the former England international with next week’s clash against Barcelona in mind.

The Gunners will be without first choice defensive pair Thomas Vermaelen – who is suspended due to his sending-off against West Ham last week – and William Gallas, who remains on the sideline with a calf injury.

Wenger said on Campbell.

“I don’t know, I will pick him for the next game because for me the next game is the only important one and I don’t consider Barcelona for the next game. At the back we need to be solid to win this game, we’ve fought the whole season to be in there and this is the priority,” he said.

Danish frontman Nicklas Bendtner has passed a late fitness test on an ankle injury, while Eduardo is expected to start on the subs bench in what will be an emotional return to St Andrews.

Rosicky or Walcott in for Arshavin and maybe a start for Eduardo for me. I see Walcott’s pace giving ridgewell a problem. I’ll be hoping we come through alright too, hopefully the hatchet men won’t turn up.

We need Denilson to turn up again, as Song will be a big Loss in DM. Diaby needs to chip in also. Difficult game, but we should beat em 3-1

Think Eboue will play right back.

Sagna will play v Barcelona. Otherwise looks about right. Possibly Silvestre in CB, though may save him for Barca in Campbell and Gallas don’t play then.

seems just about right. Wenger sometimes goes for Eboue instead of Nasri in these games and with McFadden playing wide he might do that again. Apart from that, team picks itself, Spot on.

I would want to save campbell for baca. If he’s not fit Silves will start at barca and that is a terrifying thought.

I agree with this starting XI, but we will miss Song as DM, Denilson can’t cope alone with that position. My prediction: 0-2 (Fabregas & Bendtner)
I can’t imagine Vermaelen watching tomorrow’s game, he can’t help his team-mates and that waiting must be terrible…Song will do very well for sure.
