Abraham – “Sad news set to hit Arsenal fans in the summer”

Avid Arsenal fan and professional singer Andy Abrahams has revealed on UK commercial radio station talkSPORT this morning that he heard the ‘sad news’ of a player set to leave the club in the summer whilst performing at Theo Walcott’s 21st birthday party last week.

Abraham was quizzed on whether he picked up any gossip at Walcott’s lavish bash, and the passionate fan confirmed he had some bad vibes from his meeting with the players. He described the news as ‘very sad for the summer’ while also admitting it wasn’t 100% but very probable that it will be announced come the end of the campaign.

Presenter Mark Saggers tried to quiz Abraham further, but he refused to give out anymore details of what he had picked up, but completed the interview all but confirming it was a player leaving that would be the ‘sad news’.

Captain Cesc Fabregas and former skipper William Gallas have been constantly linked with moves away this term.

This game has a greater significance than Hull or Stoke away. Everyone knows our next PL game is at home to Wolves and we will be expected to win that one. Winning the next 2 games will see us in 2nd place, no doubt about that. Without looking too far ahead, my intention is to emphasize how crucial this Birmingham game is to us. Our rivals are secretly praying and hoping we draw or lose today. The danger here is that this Birmingham game will determine our mental state prior to facing Barcelona. If we win today, we will be in very confident mood going into the CL game at the Emirates; not only that, we would also have forced a pressure situation at the top of the league where next weekend ManUtd and Chelsea play each other and points will get dropped. You will agree with me that Birmingham away is more difficult a task compared to Wolves at home.

This fixture gives me the jitters honestly. I’m very nervous and I can imagine a lot of fans are too. Lets just hope we can go up there and score the important goals in the first half. This is not a game to miss chances. If we miss them like we did at Burnley, then we will pay for it this time.

I’d prefer Song to play central defence with Campbell. Play Silvestre and this game will become even more difficult. My fear is only magnified because we, as Arsenal make things more difficult than they ought to be. Put away the chances. It is difficult to face another situation like the goal in injury time at Hull 2 weeks ago. Birmingham don’t score many goals but they prevent opposition teams from scoring goals. We need to start well and get a goal in in the first 20mins. That will ease the nerves and get us playing in our rhythm. This is such an important game. ALL OUR RIVALS are waiting on this one. Win this one and the tone will change. Arsenal will then be joint favourites to win the league by next weekend.

Please guys, Arshavin, Cesc, Bendtner, Clichy, et al. Make it happen. We need these 3 pts more than any other. I’ll run with a 0-1 to Arsenal. I’ll run with any win right now. This is not time to let up on Chelsea and ManUtd who play each other nxt weekend. Let’s force them to murder each other. We have a say on that fixture, particularly if we win this one against Brum. I’m feeling the jitters, I really am.

Oh God please win this game for the Gunners (Amen)

Considering that in the same interview he mentioned us losing to Birmingham last year (it was 2 years ago and we didn’t lose), I wouldn’t put too much stock in anything this guy has to say about the Arsenal.

    Has to be Gallas

I reckon he has known since he lost the captancy that he will get on and play, without saying a word. Then he will leave quitley on a free transfer at the end of his contract.

There will be a number of players leaving this summer as many have contracts which are due to expire including Gallas, Eboue and Silvestre, however it wouldn’t be the end of the world if we are going to sell Arshavin and Eduardo as neither player has show the true potential they have, and it seems both players wifes are unhappy. We need to freshen up the squad so to lose all of the above and bring in some fresh faces may do the team good.

Alas Eduardo is not the player he was, and Arshavin hasn’t exactly been setting the game alight, he seems to be lazy and yesterday’s shooting was poor, if you can’t give 100% then we don’t want you or anyone else who isn’t 100% for Arsenal.

“Sad news” could equally apply to Silvestre, Gallas, Eboue, or Eduardo.

Silvestre and Eboue … because they’re both very popular at Arsenal.
Gallas … simply because of his historical importance.
Eduardo … for everything that’s happened.

Cesc? Cesc leaving wouldn’t be sad. It would be seismic.
    Wenger? … likewise.
AA23? … Sad? Not really. Damn! Sod! Spit! … more like.
Pat Rice? … always a possibility. Old. Grandchildren. The garden.

The probability is Gallas … then Eduardo … then Pat Rice.

When I first read this I thought it was a crock of crap, but it seems its true.
Back in April Andy Abrahams was at Theo’s birthday party and he said that a first team player would be leaving in the summer and it was really sad. (he wouldn’t say who). I thought he was referring to Cesc but in hindsight it Eduardo.

Incidentally, he also said that Cesc was really unhappy with Wenger in January for not signing ‘quality’ players in the window to strengthen the team.
