VIDEO: Chamakh’s goals in the Champions League
Marouane Chamakh is finally an Arsenal player.
Chamakh’s arrival at the Emirates Stadium has been in the pipeline for several months after he revealed he would not be signing an extension to his contract – allowing him to leave on a free this summer.
To celebrate his arrival, Gooner Talk have found a video of Chamakh’s 5 goals in the Champions League for Bordeaux this season.
Enjoy – and don’t forget to give us your views on the transfer in the comments section below.

Hopefully this is the first of the four or five players we’re going to need next year. I’m not holding my breath though…..
he is mix of adebayor and olic.
hope he scores some goals with his foot too.
anyways i am too tense abt cesc situation
Great Signing Welcome Chamakh !!! Arsenal will play in air 4 sure!!

Nice to see that he was and still is loved, by the Bordeaux fans..
Arsenal Scored 14 goals by heading , while chamakh scored 11 only 3 less ..
great headie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
not bad for a free lets hope he will be a beast and tear teams apart for many years to come…
FEED CHAMAKH AND HE WILL SCORE!!!!
Number 3-Blimey, he chucked himself at that!
I sense a change of formation for next season or at least a slight tweak of the one we used last season. Instead of having the wingers, I think we might go with either 2 up top with 1 player just behind, or 1 main striker and 2 deeper fowards in behind. Can’t wait to see him play his first game and it’s nice to hear a bit of good news coming out of the Arsenal camp!
great signing anyway..
At least one player arrived. May be last in this summer.
I really hope that he’s allowed to play to his strengths, and encouraged to keep taking up scoring positions. Too often do we not have anyone on the end of crosses, or poaching near the goal.
what’s the name of the song in this video??
Umm, not to sound like a pesimistic… but seems that he likes to get on the end of crosses… something we dont seem to do at all, or that well when we do…
So just started getting a few uneasy thoughts about this signing now… whats the point of having a good header when we are likely to get to the byline and just play the ball back until we can tap it in?
I just hope his all round game is good… e.g that he can create space and be an intelligent footballer.
someone will finally get sagna’s crosses !
‘I gotta feeling’ – black eyed peas.
The name of the song is “I gotta feeling” by black eyed peas. you can also reach it by clicking on http://www.target.com/Black-Eyed-Peas-E-N-D-Deluxe/dp/B0027EPA7A
Welcome home chamakh…I had been waiting for this to happen…glad it finally did.
lets hope he does not revert to the ‘no shooting’ and ‘stand on the edge of the box for crosses’ policy that new acquisitions get trained into at the club.
Just watched the free video on arsenal.com bout the signing!!!! wenger looks ill!!! like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders!!!!
What I like most of all is the fact that he attacks the ball in the air. If he still have someone next season who can put a decent ball into the box then it looks like he will get to it. Can you imagine him winning headers and then v.p. finishing up after him? Or the other way round? My mouths watering…
welcome son
Is it only my view, or does Wenger really look like a sick, fed up, tired man on that pictures…I have never seen him this drained.
Welcome Marouane. Dont expect many goals but the guy is a real deal because he plays for the team and always give 110%. Typical Wenger move. Dont get me wrong but Barca gave 34M for a superstar and doesnt even need him and Arsenal got Marouane this summer for free and didnt give more than 5M (bordeux wanted over 10) last summer BUT arsenal needed the guy to replace Ade. And for 5M difference Arsenal suffered without a striker for months. Thats why Cesk decided to go and leave us so early. In order not to spend a few millions more, that is ridiculus amount for a club of this stracture, we lose our stars. Anyway, istill love this club and i will never stop support the gunners.
that video just made me wish we signed gourcuff instead
If arsenal lose Cesc, Wenger should try to get gourcuff from bordeaux, and if we did add a good goal keeper, we will have the dream team to beat this year.
Good signing. He is not the most lethal striker in the world but he is a real force in the air. There are rumors that he can fly !!
For once we got someone you can head the ball. hang on, we need someone who can cross.
gourcuff is far superior to Nasri. can we swap?
Welcome to Chamakh! Yeah Wenger really looked worried in the video. He could hardly smile. His smile was very fake. His appearance suggests to me that Cesc will be leaving. However, we shouldn’t take less than 55 million pounds. Barca need to show us the money; none of that bullshit about “Barca DNA”. Let’s see how much you want him now Barca!
@FCUK DOMENCH:
Sagna can’t cross!
@andymacky: Gourcuff will replace cesc at Arsenal, hes the only player who CAN replace him
he said only 1-2 more players will come in!! What a joke!! Fabregas needs to replaced so we need a new keeper, too.
Bordeaux cant produce chances like we can do. He will be even better as Greedybayor. I am glad he is a real fighter!!!
i think he’ll sign a keeper and a CB ..cant see him buying a DM
he has a strange advantage in the air…but I cant tell why, hes not as tall as some of the defenders he opposes.
but at least we have a small cushion if fabby leaves. But I hope we can sign two more players…and keeping fabregas on top of this would be jaw dropping
To be honest, i wouldnt be to bothered if Fabregas left .. such a big time and thinks he’s bigger than the club .. i wouldnt mind 55m and then go on to buy someone like Arteta to replace him .. He isnt a Patrick Vieira, who we did miss greatly when he left!
Henry to West Ham, what do you think? They’ve put it out in the open about their offer, I can’t see Thierry joining, well I hope he doesn’t. Wouldn’t be able to take him ripping Prem defences apart for a different side.
On the transfer front, expect a centre-half to come in and i’ve heard that a new ‘keeper may come in if Cesc stays but if he leaves then we’ll stick with what we’ve got. Apparently, when Cesc had “his meeting” with Arsene, he asked if we would be getting a new ‘keeper and Wenger said that we weren’t. So, it may be that we bring in a new ‘keeper to appease Cesc but if he leaves, we probably won’t bother. Doubt we’d see a replacement either!
Players that will or should leave: Silvestre, Gallas, Senderos, Denilson, Almunia.
Players that must come in: Chamakh, a solid keeper(adler, lloris, frey, hart, buffon), Mexes.
So yea, when wenger says we need 2 more players after chamakh, he is right.
Hope he fits in well & i also hope this is the start of us moving forward which means to stop selling our best players & bring in the best we can.. These signings are not going to make our team as effective if we dont keep our best boys..
Lets hope chamakhs the 1st of a good few signings.. I also cant help but ask myself if wenger would have gone for him if he was not free..? Anyway who cares aslong as he delivers i guess.
Good, our next goalscorer…and who will be our next goalkeeper???
yaz
happy days
roll on more new big money spending signings
ps. hopefully
good signing he will b great wiv rvp as dey hve similar plyin styles. we must sign atleast 3-4 players cdm 4 wen song gets injured, more young cbs DEFO new keepa and wudnt mind another cm who is experienced
maybe cesc leaves n jagielka n arteta comes in.

Gourcuff yes but Gomis only if a striker leaves us!!!
Please allow me to sound very harsh and negative. I have no hope whatsoever for the upcoming season for arsenal. Arsene Wenger is the most stubborn i have ever seen, he never believes he is wrong and repeats the same old trick again and again without any sort of effect. Can you honestly blame fabregas for wanting to leave arsenal? how many times will wenger have to repeat the same lie to him and to the fans year in year out? I do not know exactly who to blame in this matter but when you are the coach that relies so much on a set of footballers who are not willing to work very hard for the team and always pass the ball around in circles all the day while the opposing team either strike us hard with a counter attack or break our fragile players physically, how would we call ourselves a team to be reckoned with. Arsene wenger is very very fortunate to be in an environment that thinks the same way with him and do not give him pressure otherwise he would have been long gone. If fabregas leaves, it will be sad, but i will tell what will happen; Arsenal will probably just accept 30 million and get over it and then dump the money into the bank account without investing in players and trust me, he will not get any replacement!!!! He will be saying that we have replacements in the squad, but i honestly cannot see any and the closest we have is aaron ramsey whom we may have to wait for another 5 years to see the best of him. How long are we really going to keep tolerating this nonsense? How long are we going to listen to the same crap from the board and from wenger every year? I am a glory seeking fan, i am just worried about the state of things in arsenal, we are selling ourselves so short now and if we do not address this matter soon, the name ARSENAL will be a forgotten issue. But on the other hand i sincerely hope that i am wrong about this, is just we deserve much better than what we are getting. I still believe that wenger is the right person for the job but he really needs to change his approach. I honestly wish we as fans could literally make our voices heard to the manager and to the board, we serious changes. Thank you.

@arsenal4ever:
Wengers never going to get the right balance is he… selling cesc & bringing in gourcuff is basicly not strengthning the team at all.
To get the right balance he needs to keep cesc & buy gourcuff.. I reckon if he went in & bought a few big stars like these cesc would want to stay as the chances of winning someting will be much higher.
