Arsenal away to Liverpool for Premier League opener

Arsene Wenger’s men finished third last season, a full 11 points behind champions Chelsea, and their quest for silverware this campaign could not get off to a more tricky start than a trip to Anfield.

Key fixture dates for the diary show a trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on October 2nd, while the first north London derby against Spurs is scheduled for November 20th.

A boxing day return of Chelsea has the potential to be a Christmas cracker, while a trip to White Hart Lane on the 26th February is one of the more important fixtures for the diary.

April could prove to be a pivotal month in the title race, with Liverpool visiting the Emirates on the 16th and Manchester United doing the same a fortnight later on the 30th.

To close the season, a trip to Fulham on May 22nd could see delight or despair for the club from north London.

The full 2010/11 fixture list can be found here.

What do you make of the announced fixtures? Is it good to get a difficult team out of the way so early on? Give us your views in the comments section below.
