Will this help bring an end to Arsenal's injury problems?

Harland.. hoping to ease the injuries

Arsenal have made arguably their most important acquisition of the summer — experienced physio Simon Harland who could provide at least part of the answer to the Gunners injury problems which plagued them throughout last season.

The news comes as Neal Reynolds opted to resume his previous physio post at Norwich City after finding it difficult to commute to Arsenal’s London Colney training ground from Norwich.

Harland, who has over 15 years experience in mostly rugby and cricket, is not the only welcome addition this summer, with Ivan Gazidis’ GPS vests idea already being brought into practice in pre-season.

Head of Physiotherapy Colin Lewin gave more information about the leg-specialist physio towards the end of last season:

“A physio called Simon Harland is coming in. He is a good, experienced physio who has been working with elite athletes for 15 years. He has come from the Northern Irish Institute of Sport where he has been working with elite rugby players and he has experience in other elite sports. We are looking forward to working with him.”

Arsenal have also continued to bolster their backroom staff with Darren Page joining the club as a masseur.
