Carlos Vela suspended from Mexico team for 6 months

Arsenal and Mexico striker Carlos Vela has been suspended from playing for his national side for 6 months, after having an after-match party following their 1-0 friendly win over Colombia last week.

Vela’s team-mate Efrain Juarez also received the lengthy ban, while a handful of other Mexican players were slapped on the wrists with fines.

The news comes at a good time for Arsenal, who are currently missing several strikers in Robin van Persie, Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner.

21-year-old Vela completed 71 minutes against Spurs this evening during the 4-1 rout.

Perhaps all our easily-injured internationals should follow Chippy’s lead and get lengthy bans from international football. Then we might actually win something.

His problem was not the party, what happened to him was that he was angry as he didn’t start the game and when he was called in showed a bad attitude, he did not even pay attention to the coach and took a rock star pose.

wow, dis calls 4 celebration. Theo wal, v.persie, bendtner nd arshav should also follow suit. Aft every int, they should throw a party so we can go on treble dis season. Plz vela apply 4 hearing from a high court so they can extend it. Thx carlos, dat was a smart move 2 save ur ars career.

I can’t believe fellow Arsenal fans are this selfish. If he’s having problems with his National Team, it may affect his Arsenal performance too. We should wish our players the best.

if true this will work out better for mexico, arsenal and vela in the long run. he will now actually get playing time for us, and he will improve as a player. good news.

Hahah the funny thing is that Arsenal is celebrating! They are all happy that Vela can concentrate in just his league and not those crapy international games where Mexican fans boo at him and don’t appreciate him! Plus, Persie, Theo and a lot of other strikers are out so Arsenal has him all to themeselves. No worries in getting injured overseas and all concentration on scoring some gunner goals! Thanks Mexico! Go Vela!

Vamos Vela animo!

Bentley was so poor yesterday. He never got a chance at AFC, played well for Blackburn, but he is now an overpayd pony at Spuds and earns high wages, its almost like he is still playing for us against Spuds;)

I tell u what that was…. It was a joke. Goalkeeper again cost us!!!! 1 nil down we have half a chance. 2 nil not a prayer!!!! Wenger is a joke for not buying a goalkeeper. Our team is let down by this over and over again. Give the “shez” a go I say. Better than those clowns almunia and flapihanksi.

the whole team sucked, not just almunia. what was koscielny doing during goal 1 and before goal 2?
how could thomas be on his own on goal 3?

how could nobody play good today and fight to score?

Do not put all that shit on our keeper. He made a great save on the penalty. One of the goals did bounce off him, but that was shambolic defending on the third one. We played like shit, were not ready, and that is on the Gaffer.

What the f*ck happened down there on the pitch? The whole team look like they were drugged or something. The hell they did just walking around like they want to roll over and give the point to West Brom? Almunia made a step forward by saving a penalty then went a thousand miles back to his calamity self. Nasri was the only one that went out there with a winning mentality, the rest were a bunch of bullsh*t losers.
