Deadline Day: Arsenal’s confirmed ins & outs
Arsene Wenger is yet to get out his chequebook on Transfer Deadline Day as the Premier League’s total January spending goes past the £100 million mark.
The Frenchman wasn’t expecting to do business today, but refused to rule out the possibility bringing any players in, prompting the Arsenal rumour mills to go into full throttle.
Most Gooners weren’t expecting any signings, although Southampton’s teenage prodigy Alex Chamberlain has been the subject of much speculation. However, talks between the Saints and Arsenal have finally broken down.
From AndyHa on Twitter: “Being an Arsenal fan on deadline day is like being in detention at school and watching other kids play outside!”
As expected, several young Gunners have been shipped out on loan, while Nacer Barazite’s move to Austria Vienna has finally been completed.
The Transfer Window closes at 23:00 (GMT) in England.
