Nasri hits out at 'disrespectful' Arsenal fans

Samir Nasri has hit out at the Arsenal supporters who sung abuse towards him during Saturday’s game with Newcastle, calling them ‘disrespectful’ because he’s ‘still’ a Gunners player.

The 24-year-old, who has less than year left on his existing contract, is yet to sign a new deal with Premier League rivals City the favourites to acquire the Frenchman’s services.

During Saturday’s stalemate with Newcastle, sections of the Arsenal away support let their disgruntlements be heard by chanting an abusive song towards him – a song which Nasri himself heard.

“I heard what the fans were singing about me on Saturday and it is really disrespectful because I’m still an Arsenal player”, tweeted Nasri.

France manager Laurent Blanc revealed earlier last week that Nasri wouldn’t be signing a new deal at Emirates Stadium, which has left the club in turmoil after today’s confirmed departure of Cesc Fabregas.

However, Arsene Wenger remains ‘hopeful’ that the former Marseille man will stay despite Blanc’s comments, telling reporters earlier today he is looking to ‘sort the situation out and keep him’.
