QPR in discussions with Arsenal over Henri Lansbury

Premier League new-boys Queens Park Rangers are raiding Arsenal for another wantaway fringe player, with the Gunners currently mulling over a £1.8million offer for midfielder Henri Lansbury.

The England Under-21 international helped Norwich to promotion last season, but isn’t expected to be in Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger’s plans this season after he wasn’t included in the Gunners’ Champions League squad.

It is understood that Blackburn manager Steve Kean has also approached Arsenal about taking Lansbury on-loan for the new season.

Lansbury’s departure looks almost certain to be completed by the end of Transfer Deadline Day tomorrow evening, making him the third midfielder to leave Arsenal this summer after the exits of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.

If we are selling him then we need a midfielder.

No chance of selling him. Loaning him could be an option if we buy another midfielder. Definitely not selling him though.

We are already short on numbers in midfield. so seems unbeleivable. Maybe loan for a while but even that seems silly. He should be back up player. Ramsey and Rosicky could easily get injured.

Would love to give credence to this story as i am hoping Lansbury could be bait for Taraabt. However, Lansbury was part of the Champions League squad he was registered on the B List.

Whether we sell him or not, we need a more experienced midfielder. I think Lansbury will make a good cover in the midfield, knowing fully well that we will be involved in all competition.

Lansbury will never make it at Arsenal better for him and the club he leaves for good.

he’s in the last year of his contract too..
would love to see him get (and take) his chance at arsenal, but I just don’t think our current situation allows it. If we sign a mid or 2 then another loan spell will definitely be on the cards. that can still be finalised after the window closes

@bc: I think you are correct, I thought we would get Taraabt in the Traore deal, but no, but he will join im sure of that. The only problem with him is ACN in february. But he is great player and big and strong too;)

Lansbury will not make it at Arsenal, it’s best for him to be sold where he will get more game time.

We gave Werder Silvestre so it’s only fair that they give us Mertesacker.

forget Taraabt because even if he does leave Rangers, it will be for a french or spanish side. and wenger does’nt like to pay money for players or do you think yuor get him on the cheap. because if 13.5 million from PSG was’nt enough. I think Wenger should start the bidding at around 20 million.
Nice result 8-2 and from the great and famous Arsenal……………..
