Spirited Gunners leave it late to beat Newcastle – Arsenal 2-1 Newcastle

An injury-time Thomas Vermaelen goal created Premier League history for Arsenal as the Gunners came back from a goal down to defeat Newcastle 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Highly-rated French winger Hatem Ben Arfa put Newcastle ahead in the first half but Arsenal’s top goalscorer Robin van Persie replied immediately for the Gunners before Thomas Vermaelen sealed the win with an injury time strike.

Watch Thomas Vermaelen’s late winner here.

It is the first time in the league’s 20-year history that a club has come from behind to win four successive games, while more importantly the latest victory puts Arsene Wenger’s men to within a point of third-placed north London rivals Tottenham.

Brilliant win again, every performance and result since losing to Sunderland has been brilliant to watch. Theo Walcott gets 10 out of 10 tonight his performance was sensational and his most complete 90 mins of the season so far.

Why would any player not want to join this club now? Fantastic team spirit and heart on the field and the bench.

Time and time again Ive seen that kind of game at the emirates, normally im left frustrated with an unambitious performance from the opposition and a couple of what if’s on some chances from Arsenal. I never doubted our fights before, but now, the current players are showing there was reasonable doubt, they are all fighting for the shirt, for the club and the fans are showing them the appreciation in return. Its a fantastic situation. We have a backbone blessed with spirit and strength that if we can keep at the club, only better things can come!

Rosicky produced another amazing performance tonight, thought he was unlucky to be substituted, but considering how much he ran and worked tonight he was probably dead on his legs. We need players like him at the club, humble workers who can produce with quality.

Where are all those dumb, dump Theo Gooners tonight? He is still young but the last four matches he just creates space. The way he “dummied” the ball to go around good defenders was a joy to watch. I would love to see Podolski come into the squad, or Goetze, but then what do you do with Ox? He is coming on and Wilshire is coming back. Nice seeing Cesc in the stands.

Watching the game, i cldn’t believe it’s same team that got hammered for 4 at San Siro. I couldn’t see us finishing in the top 4 now we’re real contenders for a third spot. What a remarkable turnaround. We don’t crumble if we’re goal down anymore. Keep up the momentum Gunners.

Just hope we keep our feet on the ground as we gather maximum points in the remaining 10 games of the season. No injuries, more rotation of the squad and anyone coming in should fighting to retain his place and who says we can’t finish the season 3rd and even with reduced points gap from the 2nd placed team who am PRAYING to be Man City for Obvious reasons.
God bless you guys on here.
