VIDEO: Joel Campbell scores wonder goal for Real Betis

Arsenal loanee Joel Campbell made his first notable impact in Spain on Sunday – after scoring a stunning goal for Real Betis during their 3-2 win over Deportivo de La Coruña

Costa Rica striker Campbell made inroads on loan at Lorient last season but has failed to replicate that form since joining Betis from Arsenal in the summer.

Campbell’s 77 minute goal sent a beaming reminder of his potential to Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger, who will be in the market for a new striker next month following Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh’s departures to the African Nations Cup.

The 20-year-old’s first goal for Betis has moved the Spaniard’s into fourth place in the La Liga table, three points ahead of Santi Cazorla’s former Malaga side.

Let’s hope he comes back in future and replicates those kind of goals at Arsenal.

@Finlay, C: Yup. Could have got him for free but decided to bank on Diaby’s fitness with no backup plan. To be fair though, you could see he was good at Wigan, but not as good as hes’s playing for WHU atm.

I’ve said it time and again, that Campbell and Afobe are good enough to be in the Arsenal Squad. Campbell will be a good replacement for Walcott, who in my opinion is one Arsenal’s problems with his crazy request to play CF. Players like Ramsey shouldn’t be in the Arsenal starting XI, Wilshere should be an option for Cazorla not playing together, Coquelin should be allowed to blossom in DM with Arteta. If we want balance in the team; our midfield should be: Arteta; Coquelin & Jack Wilshere/Cazorla
