Emirates Cup 2013: Drogba & Cavani come to North London
|Arsenal are close to finalising preparations for the 2013 Emirates Cup tournament.
The prestigious pre-season competition didn’t take place last year due to the schedule clashing with the Olympic Games, but it is set to make a return this summer.
Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan are just a few of the elite names which have previously graced the two-day tournament.
Several European giants have been approached by Gunners’ officials and it is expected that Turkish champions Galatasaray, Serie A side Napoli and Portuguese team FC Porto will all be involved.
Galatasaray have former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue in their ranks, while Napoli boast arguably one of Europe’s best strikers in Edison Cavani.
This year’s Emirates Cup will be staged over the weekend of Saturday 3rd August 2013 and Sunday 4th August 2013.
The only realistic chance of Arsenal winning a trophy is the Emirates Cup. Lets hope to god that Wenger decides to go in the summer to PSG otherwise it will be another year of crap…
Arsenal needs more good signings to help win trophies next season

Com`on Galatasaray, show everyone who is the King of Europe…We will bring the real Hell to London in August 🙂 Brace yourselves 🙂
Can’t wait to see Galatasaray, the atmosphere will be brilliant with the numerous Turks up the road on Green Lanes.
I am sure we will create a great atmosphere Tandoori 🙂
@Goonerjim: Galatasaray didnt kill Arsenal’s 2 Fans , they were leeds united fans. of course it is big crime but there was a big fight and the killers have been cathed and they’re in jail now. As Galatasaray Fans we like arsenal, and we will come to join the show.(of course with our new stars)
This cup will be won by arsenal. Don’t count the gunners out of anything this season.
