Three Arsenal players netted for their respective countries tonight.

Nicklas Bendtner started for Denmark and scored twice against Italy in what was an accomplished performance from the 25-year-old. The game finished 2-2.

Olivier Giroud started for France and also scored a brace, the first of which was a magnificent lob shot over goalkeeper Mitch Langerak. The game finished 6-0.

Mesut Özil started for Germany against the Republic of Ireland and capped off an impressive display with a clever finish to secure 2014 World Cup qualification. The game finished 3-0.

Bendtner (2) v Italy (World Cup Qualifier)

Giroud (2) v Australia (International Friendly)

Giroud has turned out to be another shrewd signing by Wenger. A lot of pundits were hailing him as a dud less that 12 months ago and now he looks a worthy replacement for Van Persie.
