Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has put his interest in Lyon centre forward Alexandre Lacazette on the backburner, after personally calling Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain.

The 28-year-old Argentine international has been heavily linked with a move to the Gunners in recent days but it’s believed that Wenger and co. balked at Napoli’s asking price of over €80m, while Arsenal value him at over €20m less.

According to Tribal Football, the Arsenal boss rang Higuain personally to discuss his interest in a potential move to north London.

There is no confirmation about Higuain’s interest in a move to the club but it’s believed that he has informally asked to leave Napoli, after his brother and agent confirmed that the striker would not be extending his current deal with the club.

The report claims that there would be no issue with regards to his contract and wages but the two club’s needs to agree on a price, with negotiations set to take place.

My gut is telling me the link is just media bullshit because the Lacazette link has… Read more »
