Although it had been widely reported that Juventus had agreed a deal in principle for Schalke 04 left-back, Sad Kolasinac, it has now been reported that Arsenal have made an attempt to hijack the deal.

The 23-year-old will become a free agent in the summer and has refused to sign a contract extension with the German club. Juve had consequently been linked with a move for the Bosnian international in the summer on a free or even this month if Patric Evra departs the club.

Arsenal, however, have made an attempt to block the deal with their own proposal for Kolasinac. Although, Schalke are unwilling to allow the player to leave this month, Arsenal could well force their hand as they can offer a higher transfer fee to Schalke and better wages for the player.
