Arsenal and Tottenham to battle for highly-rated Manchester City youth star

Talks between Manchester City and their academy star, Jadon Sancho have broken down according to the Independent, which has led to interest from both Arsenal and Tottenham.

The 17-year-old winger is one of the best prospects in academy football and is regarded as the club’s brightest talent, in their newly developed academy. Sancho, however, was left out of the City squad which flew out to the United States for their pre-season tour on Monday as a consequence of his failed contract talks.

City are desperate to keep the youngster and had offered him a three-year deal worth £30,000-a-week, one of the largest deals ever offered to a 17-year-old in England. With no direct path to the first-team, however, Sancho could well leave the club whom he joined in 2015 from Watford.
