Arsenal vs Everton: Predicted XI

After  disappointing result at Vicarage Road, Arsenal face misfiring Everton in a match that will indicate their ability as a team to dismantle opposition and whether they really have fallen as a club or not. Arsenal’s title hopes have almost disappeared after being winless away from home in the league. Arsene Wenger may pick the following men to turn that around.

Petr Cech

He is clearly Wenger’s man between the sticks for the Premier League. Disastrous penalty record aside, he is an excellent keeper and deserves better than he gets right now.

Laurent Koscielny

Reports say that he is back and he should start against a potentially terrifying Everton attack. He is our best defensive player and his presence is a very important thing. Arsenal lost against Watford after he hobbled off and his absence has seen the Gunners being unsettled in defence time and again this term.

Per Mertesacker

The big German has to put in another solid shift in he next game and he will be up for it after critical comments about him were everywhere last week. Shkodran Mustafi’s injury gives him the chance to start and Wenger will probably not want to risk playing Rob Holding against a desperate and quality team.

Nacho Monreal

Monreal is an incredibly consistent performer and after being rested against Red Star Belgrade, he is up for another start.

Hector Bellerin

He will not be feeling good about giving away a very soft penalty. Bellerin will be hungry to prove himself and if combined with proper help from the creators in attack, he should shine in this game. He needs to deliver a big performance very soon.

Granit Xhaka

Another Arsenal star who has come under criticism for his recent performances and Xhaka will look to put in a more solid performance after he was spotted ball-watching for Watford’s winner in the last game. he needs to look much better.

Aaron Ramsey

That can be facilitated by Aaron Ramsey- the man who takes up the work load for the team. He was missed so badly against Watford and he should get straight back into the staring XI. The Welshman’s World Cup dreams are over and he will look to make the most of the season with his club now.

Sead Kolasinac

The tank has been one of the very few good things of this season for Wenger’s men and he will be back in business against the Toffees after being rested in midweek. No-brainer.

Mesut Ozil

The German playmaker is back from injury and reports have claimed that he has no agreement with Manchester United. He was very poor against Watford and if he starts against Everton will aim to turn things around.

Alexis Sanchez

The Chilean is back just like Ramsey and Koscielny and he will be a menace to the Everton back line. He has been good whenever he has played this season and we excpect a solid performance from him.

Alexandre Lacazette

Finally, Gunners fans can expect to see the Ozil, Lacazette and Alexis trio- one that can deliver the league title if it actually gets to be on the pitch. The Frenchman has not been scoring freely in recent weeks and would love to be back on the scoresheet.
