Arsenal love scoring late winners against Burnley and Sunday’s clash between the two Premier League sides was no different.

Chilean maestro Alexis Sanchez netted a late spot kick to seal all three points after Aaron Ramsey was fouled in the box.

The Gunners have won each of their last three Premier League matches against Burnley with goals scored in the 90th minute.

As expected, Arsene Wenger’s men took an impressive away support to Turf Moor which resulted in a very loud post-match atmosphere.

Chile forward Sanchez, who arrived in 2014 from Barcelona, has scored 56 goals in 113 appearances. Asked on Tuesday if Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, who also has an expiring contract at the end of the season, would still be Arsenal players on February 1, Wenger said: “Yes, of course. That is what we said many times.”

Regarding whether the pair will sign new contracts and remain at the club for 2018/19, Wenger said: “I am not the only one who can decide that.

“They have a part to play in that as well but, if it is my decision, yes.”

Pressed on whether Arsenal had completely ruled out selling either or both of Sanchez or Ozil in January, Wenger added: “Yes, I rule it out.

“I do not think every day about that. At the moment I think, as long as they are here, they have to give their best for the team and for the club.

“In my head, they stay until the end of the season.”

However, Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas believes the club could still let Alexis leave if a viable offer comes in the January transfer window.

“If PSG or Real Madrid or somebody’s going to come in and make a bid for Alexis Sanchez, you have to listen to the money.

“Arsenal have got lots of money, but they still have to listen to that.

“I’ve still got a feeling that they’ve got a better chance of re-signing Ozil, if it’s feasible.

“I don’t see another contract for Sanchez but if the right money comes in, £20m, £25m, Arsenal have to think about it.”
