Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin gave an even-handed response when asked about his view on the foul which led to Eden Hazard’s penalty kick in the Gunners’ 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The 23-year-old Spain international was penalised by referee Anthony Taylor on 82 minutes after making a high challenge on Cheksea’s Belgian talisman, who went on to convert the spot kick past goalkeeper Petr Cech.

Bellerin, speaking to Sky Sports after the game, also praised his side’s reaction after salvaging a late point to draw level and maintain their chase towards claiming a top four spot.

“I saw the ball in the air and I tried to challenge for it. We both went for the ball at the same time,” said Bellerin.

“I’m happy with the goal but also happy with the reaction at the end of the game. It’s non-stop football. We know whenever we play them it’s always a hard game, there’s always a lot of entertainment, always really hard, we work hard all week.”
