French outlet L’Equipe – (via Metro) – have revealed that despite Tottenham Hotspur allegedly already agreeing a deal worth £25m to lure Paris Saint-Germain’s Lucas Moura to the Premier League, the Brazilian’s agent is supposedly in discussions with Spurs’ north-London rivals Arsenal regarding the wantaway winger’s services.

It’s believed that Moura is desperate to leave PSG before the January transfer window shuts on Wednesday, and Spurs had initially emerged as the front-runner in the race for his signature, with a tabled figure of £25m being accepted by the Ligue 1 champions.

Although with the French giants keen to squeeze as much as they can out of the chasing suitors as they ready themselves for an expensive summer, the Gunners are now seemingly within the frame for the 25-year-old attacker, notable direct competition which would presumably unsettle the Lilywhites greatly.

It’s said that Arsene Wenger is a adherent to the qualities which Moura possesses on the pitch, but with Arsenal bartering with Borussia Dortmund over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s immediate future, any move for the surplus offensive threat could hinge on their success in landing the Gabonese striker from the Bundesliga club.

Dortmund could demand as much as £60m for the 28-year-old, and if Arsenal refuse or indeed fail to meet the German club’s final valuation, Moura would certainly surface as a worthy alternative with a much more tantalising price-tag.
