A section of the Arsenal fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Alexandre Lacazette to first-team action following his nagging ankle concern.

The 28-year-old forward started the season on a good note with two goals from three appearances but he has since been out of contention due to a minor ankle problem.

Lacazette has recently returned to individual training as he looks to build up his fitness levels and some of the club’s faithful are eagerly awaiting his comeback to the playing field.

Lacazette’s absence has not impacted the Gunners’ performances in the Premier League, particularly with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in sublime form with seven goals from eight appearances.

Still, the Gunners have lacked the presence of someone, who can hold-up play at regular intervals and Lacazette’s return will undoubtedly provide an upgrade in the frontline options.

Unai Emery’s side are scheduled to face Sheffield United away from home following the international break and it is unclear whether Lacazette will make the matchday squad for that game.

After more than a month in rehabilitation, Gunners boss Emery may be cautious over the striker’s fitness and it won’t come as a surprise, if the Frenchman is initially utilised off the bench for a few games.

The north London giants are presently occupying the third spot in the league standings with 15 points on the board. They have recently gone unbeaten for eight games across all competitions.
