Bendtner close to comeback

Nicklas Bendtner should be fit enough to play a part in Denmark’s World Cup opener with Holland, according to team-mate Thomas Kahlenberg.
The 22-year-old has been been struggling with a groin injury and admitted yesterday that he’s been frustrated at having to train by himself.
Wolfsburg ace Kahlenberg, who is also injured, told Sporten.DK that Bendtner is vital for the Dane’s World Cup aspirations.
“There is no doubt that he is a very important player for us and for the way we want to play football.
I’m crossing my fingers that he returns soon. We all hope that Bendtner will be ready for the Holland match.
From what I’ve heard he is on the right track, the most important thing is he is 100 percent ready or at least fit enough to take part in the game.”
Bendtner is likely to face his Arsenal team-mate and good pal Robin van Persie on June 14th. You can see the latter scoring a superb goal against Hungary earlier by clicking here.
Many thanks to Nicklas Bendtner News for finding Kahlenberg’s quotes.
