Your Predictions: Arsenal v Liverpool

Arsenal avoided an FA Cup upset with a late Theo Walcott winner at Brighton on Saturday, but Liverpool suffered one of the biggest shocks of the round when losing at Oldham on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta has not played since the FA Cup third round clash with Swansea on January 6th but could come into contention here after Arsene Wenger stated that the Spaniard was “a matter of days” away from a return ahead of their match with Brighton.

Francis Coquelin is unlikely to be involved, however, while Thomas Vermaelen is a doubt with an ankle injury.

Stat: Liverpool have won only once in their last 11 league meetings with Arsenal

Likely Arsenal line-up: Szczesny; Sagna, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs; Ramsey, Cazorla, Wilshere, Giroud, Podolski, Walcott.

Rosicky returns for FA Cup clash with Brighton

Arsenal midfield duo Tomas Rosicky and Abou Diaby both return to the Gunners’ squad for Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round clash with Championship side Brighton.

However, Mikel Arteta, Francis Coquelin and skipper Thomas Vermaelen won’t be travelling to the AMEX after being ruled out through injury.

Stat: Arsène Wenger’s men have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last seven away FA Cup games, shipping 12 goals in the process.

Likely Arsenal line-up: Szczesny; Jenkinson, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs; Rosicky, Cazorla, Wilshere, Ramsey, Podolski, Giroud.

Your Predictions: Arsenal v Newcastle

Giroud

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed he has no fresh injury worries ahead of Saturday’s home clash with Newcastle.

Olivier Giroud and Tomas Rosicky both return to the squad after missing out in the previous match at Wigan due to illness, though Giroud is likely to struggle in his battle to oust Theo Walcott as the lone forward against the Magpies.

Wenger’s side have conceded goals in five of their last seven league games at the Emirates, and remain somewhat unconvincing defensively despite recording three wins on the trot domestically.

Stat: The Gunners’ have opened the scoring at home before the 26th minute on four occasions this season, while Newcastle have conceded before the 35th minute in five of their away matches to date.

Likely Arsenal line-up: Szczesny; Sagna, Vermaelen, Mertesacker, Gibbs; Arteta, Cazorla, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Podolski, Walcott.

Your Predictions: Wigan v Arsenal

Walcott

Arsene Wenger will hope that Theo Walcott continues his superb form against Wigan in the early kick-off on Saturday as Arsenal look to break back into the top four of the Premier League.

The Gunners’ boss is expected to hand Walcott his second consecutive start in attack following an impressive display in the 5-2 win against Reading – where the Englishman netted his 11th goal of the season.

Goals galore have been the order of the day in this fixture – 18 have hit the net in the last four league meetings between the sides at the DW Stadium, with at least four goals in each encounter.

Both sides have worries heading into the game with Wigan’s midfield dynamo James McCarthy, Ivan Ramis and Gary Caldwell struggling to be fit while Laurent Koscielny is a doubt for the visitors.

Your Predictions: Reading v Arsenal

wenger

Arsenal take on Reading for the second time in a month at the Madejski Stadium tonight.

Since beating the Royals in November’s thrilling fifth round League Cup tie, Arsenal have managed to win just three of their eleven matches.

The Gunners slumped to a shock penalty kick exit at the hands of League Two side Bradford City in midweek and last weekend’s 2-0 win over West Brom was the only win that Arsene Wenger’s men have enjoyed in their last six matches.

Furthermore, Arsenal come into this clash without an away win in the Premier League since October.

Form
Reading WLLLLL, Arsenal DDLLWD

Your Predictions: Arsenal v West Brom

Arsenal have enjoyed the better of recent meetings with West Brom in the Premier League in recent seasons but go in to today’s match on the back of several poor results.

The Gunners are odds on favourites for the visit of the Baggies this weekend, but Steve Clarke’s side will be hoping to emulate Swansea’s performance last Saturday at the Emirates and take all three points.

Fifth placed West Brom can certainly be expected to cause Arsenal problems – despite having no clean sheets on their travels, they have also failed to score just once away from home as well.

Arsene Wenger’s men have lost their last two and are on a run of four without a win, but have the likes of Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud back after they were rested against Olympiakos.

Your Predictions: Arsenal v Swansea

Arsenal host Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium today with Michael Laudrup’s side just one point adrift of Arsene Wenger’s side in 8th place.

The Gunners are certainly the bookies’ favourites to take all three points this weekend with many bookmakers offering odds of 1/2 on an Arsenal win.

Last season, both teams took home victories in the two corresponding league fixtures, with the Gunners’ winning 1-0 at the Emirates thanks to a goal from Andrey Arshavin.
