Traore Looking For United Scalp
Speedy French fullback Armand Traore will be desperate to give Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger a title boost tonight, as the 18-year-old’s new Pompey side take on Manchester United at Fratton Park.
Traore, 18, makes his Portsmouth debut against United following last week’s season-long loan move from Arsenal.
The former France Under 17 international, who replaces left-back Hermann Hreidarsson at Fratton Park this evening, said:
“Obviously I had a chat with Arsene and he is going to be watching. I will speak to him after and some of the players, so I will be doing my best to get a result. This is a good chance to prove myself. Harry said he believes in me and I need to be strong.” Traore told The Sun.
Armand has made 18 appearances at the Emirates – most of them in the Carling Cup – since joining from Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco in late 2005.
He looks well good, maybe see a lot of him next season.. But where would he fit in?
surely arsene has to put him on the left wing when he comes back to arsenal, coz i can never see him breaking clichys hold on left back. what do you lot think?

There is a place for Traore in our squad as a possible backup for the “best LB in the world” Gael Clichy.
He should be ready in time to take Silvestre's place in the squad in the next couple seasons. Add Pedro and Gibbs to that and we look well stocked at LB for years to come. Further proof of how the signing of Silvestre will benefit Arsenal in the short and long term.

Oh no! Look at the Arsenal website, it says that the loss to Fulham has not swayed Wenger's belief that he can find replacements for Flamini, Gilberto, Diarra and Hleb within the squad. This season is going to be terrible!

We lscked in two areas lst saturday, right of midfield and in the centre. Walcott provided no threat an basically got the ball and had no invention what so ever, he either ran into a fulham defender or passed it to another player who was being marked. Walcott is becoming a big worry for me. Apart from pace I cannot see anymore to his game. Both Eboue and Dnilson played with no unity, there was little communication between the two, they never looked positionally very good, so what hapens then is your passing les you down because you are so disorganised on where you and your fellow central midfielder should be. I remember when Fabregas made his debut in the charity shiled many years ago, apart from his passing and composure the main thing i noticed in that game which made my jaw drop was his positional play. He always got the ball because he was always standing in the right place. Its a difficult position CM for a young player to play because its a position where you have to be able to receive the ball and distribute it without any margin for error otherwise the whole team then has to resort to direct play because the midfielders cannot let the team flow. This was why we did not see the passing we normally see. We ended up resorting to direct passing from the full backs

Do you know anything about Senderos' reported loan deal? I seriously hope he's not leaving.
Why don't you want Senderos to leave? He is surplus to requirements at the moment, I can't see a reason for him to stay when there's, Gallas, Toure, Silvestre, Djourou and Song ahead of him. Good riddance.

Senderos is a top class defender. He is the most intelligent of our defenders and is one of two – the other being Song – that adds sufficient aerial presence to the side.
