Ade Gripes At Tax In The UK
|Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has moaned about the tax paid in Britain — and the £8 congestion charge.
The 24-year-old striker, who recently signed an £80,000-a-week deal, was asked what he would change if he was Prime Minister.
Adebayor, who scored 30 goals in 48 games last season, only signed his previous contract in the summer of 2007 but negotiated an improved deal just weeks ago.
“I would try and keep down the tax. In London I would like to change the congestion charge.” revealed Ade
Togo frontman Adebayor joined Arsenal from French side Monaco in January 2006 for £3m.

I would have liked to have seen you sack your PA man; but life's a bitch at times eh. Welcome to London
Well, people that have private healthcare do feel hard done by. But what about the people that can't afford private healthcare? As an African, he should surely understand.
He was asked this six months ago.
Poor bugger, must be hell having to get by on 80k a week. Maybe we could start up a collection for him.
Footballers…………, the more the game becomes about them, the less and less i find myself enthralled with it. Shame. Anyway, i better go and register the 'relief for Emmanuel charity', too many more weeks of paying that congestions charge, and he might not have enough cash in his back pocket to pay for his jewell encrusted back scratcher he has on order.
This guy must have a toe fetish, every time i look around he has his foot in his mouth!
I have seen a few people comment on other blogs claiming that we are interested in Vedran Corluka, anybody think there could be any truth in this? he would b a decent addition, versatile and big and can play dm
i agree with ade,if he was the man who made decisions he would change the tax rates and the congestion, why did the writer of this post do a sun news paper and take half a quote??
couldnt find a story so dug out last wednesdays sun news papaer, probably just read another blog saying vieira about to sign so probably tracing that blog as we speak!
Priceless
Poor Ade, annoying when you earn 80k a week and you have to give nearly half that to the tax man, wish I was that lucky Ade, maybe you should try and live in our shoes rather than look to earn more and complain
Ade, why dont you park your Bently in the Garage and jump the tube
As I said before, he was asked on ATVO about six or seven months ago (along with many other Arsenal players, a few of whom said the same thing) and suggested that we lower the tax.
Geez, some people really hate this guy.
so if you were the PM you wouldnt do those things…? why dont all you arsenal fakers stop hating on him and get behind him.. we need his goals and what he does for the team…
He was asked what he would do if he was a PM how else do you answer that question.
This is a very old quote from atvo. Several players,, including hleb, said similar things.
Why do people have it in for ade?
he signed a new deal, is the clubs star striker, get behind him FFS.
