No Arsenal Move For Appiah
|told you several days ago, Stephen Appiah will not be moving to the Emirates Stadium, after Gunners boss Arsene Wenger revealed he is “not on the case” of the Ghananian skipper.
Appiah, 27, was linked with a whole host of Premier League clubs mainly because he is available outside the transfer window having been released by Fenerbahce prior to the end of August.
Wenger confirmed to the British press earlier this afternoon that he has no interest in bringing Appiah to the club.
“No, we are not on the case,” Wenger told a press conference on Thursday.
Since the departure of Mathieu Flamini and Gilberto Silva, Arsenal have yet to have made moves in the transfer market to replace either; apart from signing youngster Amaury Bischoff.
The Accra-born star would of added plenty of experience to Wenger’s thin squad; but the Frenchman has already confirmed that he is to stick with what he’s got – at least until January, that is.
sky sports seems to think we want a 33 year old brazilian called mineiro or something……VERY MUCH DOUBT IT but if so…why would we get rid of our 31 year old brazilian????
bye bye wenger
Yep I saw that mate, Wenger has already said he's finished with his transfer business and like you said, it's unlikely he would of let Gilberto gone if he was thinking of this kind of move.
I was never that hopeful but its a shame. it may be the sort of thing we regret if we have another Fulham debacle.
Jesus for a top 4 club i we really do make things easy for our opponets our thread bair squad will never last until the end of the season i just hope Wenger gets his cheque book out at christmas if it is not all over for us by then
Wenger jus blew it again!!!
The Mineiro story seems unlikely but his agent confirmed he had a trial on Monday, but no news on the outcome yet.
I thought Appiah was the better option, but obviously not for AW.
Mineiro was recommended by Gilberto so there may be something worth chasing.
I personally think this is a good move – Appiah is injury prone. Yes, he is a good player but Im sure Wenger is thinking of bringing in the experience we need in January and Diaby will be back soon.

Mineiro will NOT happen, and I hope it doesn't. This is someone leaving the mighty Hertha Berlin and apparently Birmingham are interested in him.
As for Appiah, he's injury prone, hasn't played a run of games for ages and I think we have better players than him for CM.
I thought Appiah ,may be worth a punt and if he didnt work out or fit in flog him to someone else in jan or next pre season. We have to trust AW is a better judge than us and he also has more inside info and more data than we will ever know.
wenger you old fool. you should of been signing this mutha fucka up big time and no messing about !!!
no doubt he is waitin for bitchslap to regain fitness in about 30 years.
Good, either buy someone of real quality or dont bother
