Clichy & Eboue Doubtful For Kiev Tie
|
Gael Clichy and Emmanuel Eboue could miss Wednesday’s Champions League group stage match at Dinamo Kiev after sustaining seperate injuries during this afternoons 4-0 rout against Blackburn.
Both players were victim to kicks from Rovers’ players with the latter winning a penalty after being brought down in the box by Stephen Warnock.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger told Sky Sports:
“They [Clichy & Eboue] will be assessed when we get back. It’s not looking too good for either of them” said the 58-year-old Frenchman.
Wednesday’s game is likely to be a difficult contest in Ukraine, with Kiev looking for an scalp in the early stages of UEFA Champions League competition.

ohh dear..im surprised neil warnock could even run lol (isnt it stephen warnock). who would cover for LB then..gibbs?? or maybe gallas with djourou in the middle
It's not too good. What about Nasri?
Haha yep, typo, sorry.
Maybe Gibbs, I'd prefer to see Silvestre at left back with Toure and Gallas in the middle.
He travelled with the squad today but didn't play so was obviously rested as a precaution.
Nasri should definitely be back for Wednesday.
Silvestre can play LB, gibbs as cover or even gallas there. If sagna is to be rested like I think he will be toure will play RB against Kiev.
Back Four: Toure – Gallas – Djourou – Silvestre
Silvestre hasnt played for while, I think Djourou should play RB and Sagna LB….
new story if you wanna run it
veloso to arsenal in january

Did anyone touch Eboue?
He fell awkardly on his leg mate.
Clichy wasn't kicked. He lost his balance and fall in front of the Blackburn player who was about to clear the ball in a 50-50 situation. That's why the ref did not blow his whistle.
Eboue? I am not sure. Video replay angles doesn't seem to show Warnock touching his legs, but that's video angle. You know, if you're fat they can make you look thinner too. Only Eboue knows if it touched him. But that fall definitely injured him.
I'm not a big fan of Adebayor, but his performance was brilliant. Besides the hattrick, he was also very hardworking. And i believe its his hardwork that pays off with 3 goals.
So, don't criticise him for his offsides. It's part and parcel of Arsenal's game to play through passes and opponents to try catch our strikers offside because they need to push the line higher to avoid Arsenal
having possession in their box.
Chris, my user name “Duck” is already registered?
Thanks.
Apparently Nasri is a 'big doubt'. So will this mean a start for Silvestre at LB (if he's fit)? And who's gonna play left/right wing. We might see Song and Denilson in the middle with Cesc on the right and Theo on the left, similar to yesterday except Theo will be playing left wing instead of Eboue.
I think both should be fit though. He said he still needs to assess them and he probably didn't know more than we did at the time of the interview.
If Silvestre isn't fit, Sagna can play LB. Remember he can play all across the back four and even as a holding midfielder. Toure can play RB with Djourou partnering Gallas.
I still think that Eboue and Clichy will both be fit though.
Almunia
sagna gallas toure silvestre
walcott cesc denilson vela
rvp adebayor
Not a bad team, especially without Nasri, Eboue and Clichy on top the other absentees.
Cesc shouldnt play on the wing, we've already seen how instrumental he is to the way we play… he needs to play in the middle
I hope so Nasri will be fit.
if clichy and silvestre are out then gallas WILL play there with djourou and toure in the centre and sagna at right-back. walcott and nasri on the wings with robin and nikki up front.
Eboue is just one short of a striker role to fulfil the Total Football.
