Clichy Only Suffers 'Shin Bruising' After Injury Scare
|
Arsenal left-back Gael Clichy has NOT broken his leg during this evening’s Premier League win over Bolton Wanderers after the official website confirmed that the Frenchman only suffered “shin bruising”.
The 22-year-old had be taken to hospital following a challenge from Trotters striker Kevin Davies, who was booked for the tackle, and Cesc Fabregas claimed after the full time whistle that his side had come in for unwarranted special attention.
“We know every time we come here it’s going to be a tough game, very physical, they only look for corners, free kicks and throw-ins,” Fabregas told Setanta Sports.
“The tackle on Gael Clichy, I remember last year Abou Diaby was sent off for even less than that.
“But we know we are Arsenal. When we come to the North we know something like that is going to happen, and we have to cope with that.”
Gael was able to join up the rest of the Arsenal squad for the coach journey back to London Colney and will be avaliable for next Saturday’s game at home to Hull City.
thats good to hear. glad his not injured . if he is dunnoe who will replace him since traroe is at pompey
Gibbs will probably start against Sheff Utd. Silvestre should be fit for Saturday's game against Hull.
I remember that we played Sheffield Utd last season too, didn't we?
And that Eduardo and Bendtner played. Apart from Dudus goal i dont remember much else but i'ld like too see the same outcome, obviously.
Seeing as Dudu is still out i would love to see Nendtner renew his partnership with Vela. There are a lot of comparisons already being made between the two and hopefully Vela can continue where Eduardo left off.
However, considering that Van Persie was rested i suppose Wenger will want to start him mid-week. Hope Clichy doesnt play until he is fully recovered.
Praise The Lord
Hope Davies gets his come uppance sometime soon
praise be to allah wenger and the team
Its really great news. Cliche is one player we can't afford to lose.
I've heard a few people say that thye tackle wasn't so bad. IMO it was a straight red. He showed studs and the injury is the result. He did get the ball but with total disregard for Cliche.
Also I'd like to congratulate fellow gooner Ian Poulter on his excellent performances in the Ryder cup so far.
Let us not forget Kevin Davies. This isn't the first time he has thrown his weight around and gotten away with it. And let's face it. The lad has weight.
His head alone prob weighs more than Clichy himself.
Hope Silvestre could get out of injury fast enough to give Clichy some cover. He needs some rest.
It is a great relief to hear that. It is irrirating to see that we are becoming targets for all these brute challenges. I hope the FA can do something.
