Extraordinary 9 Players Not Involved In City Tie
|A jaw-dropping NINE players will be missing from Arsenal’s squad to face Manchester City at Eastlands tomorrow afternoon.
With the news that Emmanuel Adebayor has been rested, and William Gallas has been stripped of the captaincy, Arsene Wenger is left with very few options for a tough Premier League clash with Mark Hughes’ side.
Young Guns exclusively revealed that Reserves skipper Gavin Hoyte has been drafted into the starting line-up due to Gallas’ disappointing comments earlier in the week.
The 18-year-old is one of many teenagers to take their place in the Arsenal squad, with Henri Lansbury, Jack Wilshere, Jay Simpson and several others also involved.
UPDATED – Players out of Manchester City game:
Bacary Sagna – Ankle
Theo Walcott – Dislocated Shoulder
Emmanuel Eboue – Knee
Eduardo da Silva – Broken Leg
Tomas Rosicky – Hamstring
Kolo Toure – Calf
Cesc Fabregas – Suspension
Emmanuel Adebayor – Rested
William Gallas – Dropped
Below, you can see the official starting XI for Saturday’s game below, we’d like to know who you think will play – so give your views in the comments section!
Almunia
Hoyte – Djourou – Silvestre – Clichy
Diaby – Denilson – Song – Nasri
Bendtner – van Persie
Subs:
Fabianski, Gibbs, Lansbury, Wilshere, Ramsey, Vela, Simpson
Not Ramsey?
Fucking disgrace…. Denilson is shit
it will be interesting to see how hoyte fairs against the likes of Robhinio. i know hoyte is pacey and im geussing he likes to press forward so he should be testing Robhino’s defensive skills!
How come randall isnt on the bench? is he injured currently?
also i think simpson may be used on the right wing as a sub if things are going well as he did well there for milwall last year and with theo out and eboue still injured may get a chance on the wing.
Ramsey will definitely get a decent amount of playing time, but Denilson has the Premier League experience needed IMO.
I would play
Almunia
Djourou – Song – Silvestre – Clichy
Diaby – Denilson – Ramsey – Nasri
Van Persie – Bendtner
isn’t that 9 players out??? or am i missing someone
Yes it is, mistake on my part. 😛
You could count Traore and Senderos, as we could re-call them from their loan spells.
what about bischoff? he’s been doing well for the reserves and, even if he is tired, shouldn’t adebayor at least be on the bench
Myself and Young Guns have been told that Adebayor won’t be involved. I personally hope he plays, we saw the damage he caused last time he played at Eastlands.
in arsene we believe, always gooners .even all the way from nigeria we beliave age is not a cretria for good football.you are well protected in the mordern day football ince you can show oyurself with rewind television replay with a spectacular display
Adebayor? Free Day???? People, is it the Arsenal???
Adebayor didn’t even make the bench?!
4-5-1
Bendtner
Nasri RvP
Diaby Ramsey
Denilson
Clichy Djourou Song Silvestre
Almunia
This will be the team. Plus Adebayor may be the one involved as he and Vela were halfway across the planet but Ade was rested. Maybe as he came back from injury recently.
Almunia(c)
Song – Djourou- Silvestre – Clichy
Ramsey – Diaby – Denilson – Nasri
Van Persie – Bendtner
Ade and Rambo WILL start!
No disrespect to Wenger, but sticking with Bendtner after last week and prefering Denilson to Ramsey would be insane.
I have a feeling that we will win by 3 goals. Billy cry baby Gallas is out and he was the bad apple. Let the children sing, let the children sing! COME ON YOU GUNNERS YOUR TIME IS NOW!!!!!
The Brain, research your stuff first mate. He played 45 minutes before being replaced.
Chris
Bendtner is poo as a lone striker but with RVP he will shine. The lad is class. Midfield we have issues but i think that the events of today will set the team free. COME ON YOU GUNNERS. This is the rebirth…..
Pat mate, I agree. Bendtner hasn’t really delivered this season, so tomorrow’s game he will really have to show up.
I thought Bendtner was your guys player of the month for one of them? Interesting partnership tomorrow with RVP.
adebayor has a thigh strain
Yes he was, there’s no doubting he started the season off brilliantly with some great goals against Twente and Bolton, but game by game, he’s starting to lose his momentum; it could be a confidence thing.
Almunia
silvestre, djourou, song, clichy
Nasri, Diaby, Rambo, Vela
rvp, bentdner
has a good balance Imo, silvestre slighty out of position but has the experiance to play there more effectivly than song.
it just goes from bad to worse for you guys. you are playing man city on their own turf with barely an attacking force to call upon…
imo you best formation would be 4-4-1-1 djourou and silvestre at centre back, clichy and toure (probably) will start at either full back position. load up the midfield with song, denilson, nasri and ramsey. and have diaby play behind van persie or vela.
man cutys midfield is far from a strong thing, and with help diaby can easily take car of comapny and run at the defence while van persie or vela runs behind and gives them all sorts of problems. meanwhile…i guess youll have to hope that the defence can stand up to wright phillips, robinho, sturridge and whoever else.
the key battle will be between man city attacking midfielders, and how well the full backs and denilson/song combo can deal with them. if they dont, you can see man city running away with the points. if they do, you might be able to nick a couple.
i reckon you will lose this one, sorry gunners. then again i thought the same against man u. you never know with arsenal eh?
If the reports I’ve read are to be believed, here is what I think we will see:
Almunia (C)
Hoyte Djourou Silvestre Clichy
Nasri Song Denilson Diaby
RVP Bendtner
Agree that Bendtner is infinitely better when playing w/ another striker and not on his own. Nasri will have to put in one hell of a shift to be our most creative midfield player as well as tracking back to help Hoyte w/ Robinho. Should be interesting…
Please NO DIABY ON THE LEFT!
I don’t Mean to Question Mr wenger But Seriously i don’t think Bendtner i don’t know i really haven’t seen him making a Bigger Impression other than the Spurs game he keeps the ball too long and somtimes he is abit selfish infront of goal and the result is a waste clear cut chance really no offence but thats Just what i think , i’d like to see Vela getting some play time alongside Van the Man, and Rambo i hope he’d start as well since Fab is Out…. i Just Saw the News on Skysport saying Gallas is No Longer Arsenal Capitan is there any Truth to that Gooner_Chris ?
Yes Tristan, almost every Arsenal blog has posted on it.
It’s not a temporary thing either.
Oh Thanks Gooner_Chris Btw How’s it Going Mate ? Oh well Hope something Good will Come outta This Though?
I’m good thanks fella 🙂
And yourself?
So do I, we really do need some stablity at the club.
I’m Very well Cheers Mate.
Yeah we Sure Do Need That.
Has to be Clichy for captain, i dont think these kids need someone shouting at them although if Flamini was about i would nominate him for captain, but it seems this team is more impressed by how you approach the game as opposed to how you talk it up. Gallas was in poor form and it seemed the other players questioned whether someone playing so badly can tell them that they werent doing there jobs. The way the team took to Flaminal and nick named him showed the affection he had in the team and the respect for his effort levels. Clichy though questionable positional, effort wise he stands head and shoulders above them all. He has been there as long as Cesc, Toure and Van P, so would have an influence somewhat over them and the new and younger players would automatically bow down to him. The fans love him, he always interviews well,I loved it when there was a rumour about him leaving only for him to sign a contract and quash any rumours. Having watched Johann in the Carling cup, and the way him and Song were geeing each other up everytime the successfully shut out the Wigan forwards I cant wait for him to get in the line up.
this is shit…we gonna lose this fuckin game
Have some Faith Mate 🙂
Gooner Chris- At No.16: I meant to say Adebayor was maybe that player involved with the bust up but I wasn’t talking about the line-up. Yeah I did research about Adebayor playing for Togo; it’s in my international round up.
I don’t think it was RVP or Ade as they both danced around like nothing changed. Maybe Sagna? Actually I don’t care, hope they just sort it out.
We will win don’t worry guys
I’m not too bothered mate. Of course we will win, our formbook shows that we should win this one. 😀
i hope all this doesn’t affect the team, i am hoping they somehow use it as inspiration that le sulk 2 is out. Really hoping Djourou gets his chance tomorrow, dont like the idea of song playing though..hes slow and a bit clumsy in and around the box so could give a few free-kicks away that robinho could capitalize on
Cesc is the new Arsenal captain
breaking news
Hoyte right back… that’s gonna be a nightmare. Persie Pigs should go right wing seen as he has a good delivery and is class at cutting inside, while it should be Vela and Bendtner up top. Ramsey and Diaby centre mids, Song makeshift right back.
Bollocks Neil
Gallas has never been a favourite of mine. I don’t know if it was me but he pretty emotional even after winning against Man Utd (almost in tears). And he might have a point about the youngsters not playing well enough to get a result whether its playing attractive football or not, but to make details like that public is never on. Saying that I hope Wenger protects Gallas possible (most likely) replacement in Hoyte by playing a 4-5-1. This game could be the making of a local lad and shouldn’t be anything but that.
Bring back Pat. Think you should set up a petition Gooner Chris. Best Cap we have had since Tony
