Match Preview: Arsenal v Dynamo Kyiv (UEFA Champions League)

Match Preview

A new captain, a new outlook and a new era – that’s what Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will certainly be hoping for tomorrow evening as his inconsistent Gunners side take on Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv.

This could be a make-or-break game for Arsenal. After consecutive Premier League losses, the Gunners are under real pressure in the after a fifth defeat of the season at the weekend against Man City and the William Gallas captaincy saga didn’t help at all. They go into this game three points ahead of the Ukranians knowing a draw should see them through to the knockout stages, but Kiev will come out all guns blazing as they know only a victory will be good enough for them to have any hopes of qualifying.

French duo Samir Nasri (inflammation of knee) and Abou Diaby (abdominal strain) miss out through injury but former skipper William Gallas does start after being stripped of the captaincy last Saturday. Cesc Fabregas will captain the side after his recent appointment while Emmanuel Adebayor and namesake Eboue look likely to be fit for the weekend’s League clash against Chelsea.

Kolo Toure (calf), Theo Walcott (shoulder), Tomas Rosicky (hamstring), Bacary Sagna (ankle) and Eduardo – who is back in training – are all missing.
