Eduardo Could Make Bench For Wigan Clash

Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva could be given a place on the substitutes bench for the Gunners’ Saturday afternoon League clash with Wigan this Saturday.

The Brazilian-born Croatian forward has been missing ever since he suffered a horrendous fractured fibula and a dislocated ankle after being tackled by Birmingham’s Martin Taylor in February earlier this year.

According to Reserve & Youth team blog Young Guns, Eduardo played in a behind-closed-doors friendly match against Nottingham Forest last week. The 25-year-old only played the last few minutes, but did get several touches on the ball which obviously began to bring him back into match practice.

“As soon as possible he will play now,” confirmed Wenger when questioned about Dudu. “He is joining in full training matches but he needs games now.”

And with the news that Kolo Toure is back from injury, things seem to get a whole lot better for Arsene Wenger’s young side. William Gallas (calf), Abou Diaby (abdominal strain), Tomas Rosicky (hamstring) and Theo Walcott (shoulder) are all missing, but other than that, a full strength eleven should take to the field at the Emirates.
