Gallas: I Have Coaching Aspirations

Gallas

Former Arsenal captain William Gallas has reiterated his commitment to the Gunners cause and revealed that after his retirement, a possible coaching role could be something in the pipeline.

Speculation has been rife in the British press recently that the centreback could be set for a January departure, as several clubs in Europe have expressed their interest in the experienced defender who was stripped of the captaincy last month.

British newspaper The Times has claimed that the 31-year-old is almost certain to leave the Emirates, as he is desperate for a move away following a torrid time over the past few months.

Gallas himself, claimed that he is focused on the job in hand – winning trophies for Arsenal.

Speaking to Radio Monte Carlo’s late night After Foot show, the Asnières-sur-Seine-born centre-half said:

“I don’t know for the future. Right now I can tell you that I only think about Arsenal, just Arsenal.”

During in what seemed quite a laid-back interview, Gallas revealed that he’s already considering seeking a potential coaching role after his retirement.

“Yes, I would like to be a coach once I retire. Maybe one of a young team that I could coach for a long time. We will see.”

What every Gooner can be certain of, is that William Gallas will be entirely committed to the club for the rest of his contract.

Recent events may have shaken up coaching staff, team-mates and myself included, but Arsenal’s defensive rock remains calmer than ever – Aston Villa, watch out!
