Campbell vows to fight for league title
|Arsenal defender Sol Campbell is completely focused on the Gunners upcoming matches in the Premier League — and vows to keep fighting for the title until the last game.
The 35-year-old centre half – who gave away a penalty at Hull on Saturday – expects a tough run-in during the coming months, but also remains adamant that the league is still wide open.
“We kept fighting and got the win in the end, and we do not care as long as the win comes,” Campbell told Arsenal TV Online.
“It is never easy, you have to win and earn your rights, you have to play good football – nobody is just going to give you three points in this league, no chance.
“We just have to keep focused, picking up the wins and stay in there.”
Staying with Campbell, he has agreed to end a £1.5m court case against Portsmouth until they have enough money to pay the former England international.
Crisis club Pompey owe Campbell £1.67m plus £50,000 in interest payments, which includes unpaid wages and image rights.
A compromise was agreed earlier today.
he may have the turning circle of a jumbo jet but you cant knock his attitude and commitment to the cause.. turning out to be a great bit of business.. much better than silvestre!
His pace and turning are far better than Senderos who was far younger. His strength and aggression is what we lacked when we ventured up North and faced the bullies. Saw what he did to Zeyatte? With him, the Blackburns and the Birminghams will think twice before they put their foot in. Gallas couldn’t give us what he has. He’s another great deal by Arsene.
Only Wenger has the ingenuity to make such a move…What Campbell lacks in pace , he makes up in his ability to read the game well and sheer aggression , physicality and the desire to win
Just got home to hear orange boat has got the tin tack at hull. I spose he will now make use of that twatty headset he wears and go and work in a call centre for British gas lol. Or even work in a tanning shop. No other fucker would get a look in. I’m now on the dooooole this is the best trip I’ve ever been on. I can hear him singing it now lmao.
“jumbo jet”? that guy is as fit as they come, look at him.
wolves did give 3 points to United though Sol.
Emperor Gooner
How can you say sol is not quick he is the 2nd fastest in the premier league (mph) proof is below:

forget what that link says, it was taken a long time ago now, you only have to watch him play and its there for everyone to see how slow he is, and your spot on saying he has the turning circle of a jumbo. saying that, he does read the game very well which ‘SOMETIMES’ gets him out of trouble, credit to him though, it takes some guts to come back to arsenal and try again.
he reminds me of an old person driving, they take so long to turn there head to see if a road is clear that by the time they have looked back it probably aint clear to move, there a liability on the road and he is on the pitch. never mind though, anyone beats silvestre
Campbell may be fast according to statistics but acceleration and turning is another thing… His experience will help us for sure
not really, he can gain yards over attackers within the first 10 metres as he did against porto, of course he is going to have his off days at his age like he did against porto, gallas is gone in the summer we need two new Centre Backs
were you speaking to William gallas Ak?
Campbell’s fine for the mug teams like Blackburn, Stoke etc. Against Spurs and maybe Man City however I wouldn’t want to see him exposed against Lennon, Defoe or Bellamy. Think if Gallas is fit by then we can afford to change the defensive line based on who we’re playing.
This old warrior still has a lot of punches in him! It was unfortunate at the Hull’s game, he gave away a penalty which was actually an offside! But I like his positive attitude, reflective of the other young warriors of Arsenal’s first team.
SOL’S A GOONER DUDU DUDU
Bendtner’s goal did several great things: it won us the match, kept us in the title fight, and seemingly, was the final nail in that orange c*nt’s coffin. Good riddance.
he is still the same … agresive.. in his tackle.. in scoring header.. why did he left arsenallll ?
WE NEED SOL THE CAT IS SHIT cant wait for sol to go back to shite hart lane and win the league there how bril that would be
I remember people complaining when wenger bought him back but the truth is without him we probably would not be in the position were in.
You cant teach the mental strengths he has. you either got it or you have’nt! He’s got that winning mentality cos he’s used to winning trophies & he knows how to bring players together which is why the lads are showing much more togetherness since he’s joint.. Man i wish this guy was at the other end of he’s career rather then the end cos he’s one kind of player any big team in the world can do with.
