Arsenal finally announce Koscielny signing
Arsenal have finally completed the acquisition of highly-rated defender Laurent Koscielny from French side Lorient.
The 24-year-old is Arsene Wenger’s second major signing of the summer after Morocco striker Marouane Chamakh signed on a free transfer in May.
“Koscielny is a central defender with great ability who performed extremely well last season for Lorient,” added Wenger.
“He has shown he is mentally strong, he’s a fighter and a very strong competitor. Koscielny is a great addition to our squad.”
Koscielny, who will wear the No 6 shirt, is set to make his home bow in the Emirates Cup over the first weekend of August but could feature in Arsenal’s first friendly of the new season at Barnet on July 17.
Gunners boss Wenger has made signing a centre-half his main priority, with veteran Sol Campbell, William Gallas and Mikael Silvestre all out of contract.

I’d love to see Sességnon but I can’t see it happening. He’s got so much in his locker and he’s certainly not afraid to run at defenders.
Honestly I have no clue who Laurent Koscielny but I trust A.Wenger`s on this.We went far to get this guy so I`m sure Wenger belives he is quality.Hopefully Now a new GK,another CB,Keep Cesc and maybe another player in Midfield…

Regarding Joe cole….. It’s not definite that he’s coming to us. Tho it is between us and the spuds I’ve been told. His uncle is a rep for one of my suppliers and he says that joe’s dad is a gooner and would love him to play for us. But at the moment it’s only between the two clubs (he won’t go abroad or up north coz he’s too much of a “mummys boy”)

am so happy this morning cos of wat i have been reading about arsenal transfer dealings this summer…it is now cleared and confirmed that at least 2 more players will be brought in in the coming weeks even it could be 3 players coming in….one more defender, an goalkeeper and probably a midfielder(melo or ozil or joe cole) but that hasnt been assured yet….UP GUNNERS!!!!!!! IN ARSENE WE TRUST…..lets go for this barclays prem trophy arsenal!!! it is surely ours this time I BELIEVE!!!!!!!

wenger try to sign another central back defender rather than campel
keeper and defender end of, stecklenburg and mertesacker , end of ….lets go get the title , up the gunners … one more season from fab then get in replacement or move nasri.. quality player who wants to make things happen every game , he woud lhave fit neatly into the team with pires , ljunberg etc… he would have been a 15 goal a season midfielder , mind you he still will be . future french team will be built around him . we will see a lot more mobile gunners team this year ….
