Denilson ruled out of Barnet match due to injury
Brazilian midfielder Denilson hasn’t been included in Arsenal’s 22-man squad to face Barnet tomorrow after suffering a reoccurence of the groin injury which dogged him towards the end of last season.
The 22-year-old, whose 2009/10 campaign was blighted with injuries, has been training separately from the rest of the squad ahead of Saturday’s pre-season fixture.
Tomorrow’s match against League 2 side Barnet could see new signings Marouane Chamakh and Laurent Koscielny make their respective debuts, while Eduardo is also included after Arsene Wenger rebuffed transfer speculation linking him with a move away from Arsenal.

Defenders: Djourou, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Nordtveit, Miquel, Gibbs, Traore

I’m pretty certain Wenger will start with Eastmond in the holding midfield role, but I was thinking about it and actually Nordtveit has more first-team/top-division starts than him in that position. Its been so long since we’ve seen him in a Arsenal shirt, I kind of would like to him playing with the first group of what’ll probably be nearly 100% first-team players to start the match.
That being said, I’m pretty sure he’ll be in the second CB pairing with Miquel, although, Nordtveit probably has more first-team starts at RB than anyone else in the squad too.
Why is this useless man still here? I think he should be released on a free transfer.
