Bendtner ruled out until October
|
Nicklas Bendtner won’t be fit for Arsenal until October at the earliest, after the Dane revealed the length of his injury during a Q & A session at Emirates Stadium this afternoon.
The 22-year-old underwent surgery last November but the injury hampered his World Cup campaign with Denmark and he has now told fans not to expect him back in the side until mid-October.
Ahead of next Sunday’s Liverpool game, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will probably be without Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie, who played against each other in the World Cup final for Spain and Holland respectively and have only had one training session so far.
It leaves Wenger short of options in attack meaning new signing Marouane Chamakh may be asked to lead the line on his own on Merseyside if the Dutchman is not match fit in time.
Hi chris did you see the Q and A with bendtner, djorou, walcott, gibbs?
Any intresting questions put to them?
doesnt seems like rosicky is leaving though…he was in the picture as well
I can honestly say I dont give a sh*t.
@john: Kieran Gibbs was asked whether Arsenal need to toughen up this season and he replied: “We play football, we don’t break legs.”
What a shame he should be out 4 the season, the guy is an absolute waste of space.
Was aneke included in squad photo. He was part of the training today.
Bendtner the guy is a joker.
Watch his interviews on ATVO seems like a good lad and the other players seem to like him.
Hes also a good footballer we just need to see what he was good at when he was 15,16 ie getting the ball going past players scoring goals.
He looks a totally different player now. But at least now hes starting to score goals
@james he scored vital goals for u did u forget those goals vs hull and Wolves?
Couldn’t give a monkeys to be honest, already chamakh has so much more about him, I know Bendy has a fair amount of support from the arsenal faithful, but in all honesty he’s never been for me, granted he’s scored some important goals, but a wardrobe with legs could easily of scored most of them. He’s clumsy and I’ve always thought he was more championship quality than premiership. His ratio of chances converted to goals is pretty poor and a world class club like ours deserves a less arrogant more gifted striker to lead the line, I would of happily traded Eddies exit for that of Bendtner, even with the injury. But hey that’s just me. Hopefully chamakh will cement his place in the first team and bendy can play in the kiddies cup. Although the Market is still open so I harbour hope of him being moved on.
Bendtner is 22 berbatov, drogba, david villa were hardly world class at 22.
Its takes time for strikers. Some players mature early than others but usually players mature later 22 is usually the age for youngsters to break into first teams
This does leave us VERY short upfont if rvp gets a knock or chamack doesn’t settle, although it looks like he will!
didn’t wenger recently say that he wasn’t worried about bendtner’s groin injury? Something is very very very wrong with the medical expertise being employed at Arsenal.
@john: Drogba signed his first professional contract at 21 😀
lansbury is the new no. 12. see below-pic no 3 & 4

Pls guys can some1 tell where Eduardor went to.
@Henry .O.: He signed for Ukranian side Shakhtar Donetsk a few weeks ago (https://goonertalk.com/2010/07/21/goodbye-and-good-luck-eduardo/)
Cant say im heart broken tbh.. Was anybody there today?? Did wenger have anything to say about he’s contract issue & transfer policys?
Drogba was playing 2nd division football in France it was only at Marseille at about 26,27 he started to come good.
Its quite similar to koscielony situation.
He played in the ligue 2 then went to Lorient and now arsenal.
Could be a good omen. BTW i thought Laurent Koscielny was fantastic in training today he looked terrific, pace, compsure, dominant, never looked like getting beaten
anybody that comes off the bench n scores the winner against the spuds after about 10 seconds gets forgiven no matter what!!
@john: his former coach says that he never saw him get beaten in a one-on-one situation. seems impressive!
Anyone who says anything negative about Nicklas Bendtner is not a true Arsenal Fan.
