Wilshere Wasted…England In Tatters
|So this is Capello’s new England. The promised mixture of youth and experience, the example of lessons learned from the World Cup, unleashed upon the Continent’s best teams. And then stepped up Montenegro.
Tonight’s 0-0 draw served to illustrate the problems that have been apparent in the English squad for over a decade: lack of end product, no fluidity, and no cohesion between midfield and attack. Yet, it’s not as if Capello was without an option.
Asserting that an 18 year-old could simply walk into a team and fix chronic problems would be a definite stretch, yet Capello’s post-World Cup promise to invigorate the team seemed to be nothing more than emptiness when a player of quality like Jack Wilshere is not used. A player who, from rival players such as Rio Ferdinand and John Terry, to teammates such as Samir Nasri and Tomas Rosicky, has no shortage of plaudits, he would have brought poise and patience to the attack. “The next Gascoigne, Brady, et cetera,” are labels that have all been applied to this prodigiously-talented maestro.
As has been said before, Wilshere is a player which England simply do not produce anymore. Capable of playing very deep centrally to right next to the front striker, he carries the ball with magic and is always capable of the unexpected. Yet, Capello instead decides on the blood and thunder English tactic of hoofing the ball up to a large frontman in the hope capitalising on knockdowns. His decision to grant an international debut to Kevin Davies, he of the Bolton Wanderers school of artistry, was laughable if not pathetic in the extreme. At some point in the game, he had a decision to spring for either the long ball approach which has done absolutely nothing for England thus far, or go with the promised new direction of relying on a more considerate build-up, and chose the former.
If a 0-0 draw to Montenegro cannot force one to adopt changes, then what will?
capello couldn’t care less if england qualify, he just wants his pay-off and to get back to his art collection and civilized life in Italy. He is ITALIAN guys, why is he managing ENGLAND? Think about it.
Let’s look on the positive side, at least Jack didn’t get injured
However if Theo had played as atrociously as any of the three wingers on display tonight he would have been crucified
Thats true Jonners. At list the boy didnt get injured. Arshavin, Diaby, Clichy and Nasri all played tonight. Lets pray non of them come bk injured
wow he didnt even play (thank god), pearce must be pissed off..
Come on, Davies is 33 years old. At least let him win a cap before he retires. Jack is here for the long haul.
I don’t know what all the fuss is about. Rooney moaned all through the game to the ref, yet managed his customary yellow. Davies (he of the queer-shaped head) also managed a yellow, despite only barely joining the fray. There were misplayed passes galore as well as shots on goal that would have delighted patrons at Cardiff Arms Park. What more do we expect of England these days!
Couldn’t care less about Euro 2012 or the England team; Wilshire not injured Huray!
thank God we don’t have to worry about wilshere picking up injury
what you have remember is that Capello is ‘dead man walking.’ He’s leaving when his contract expires, so HIS main aim is to preserve his record of winning/not losing matches. He plays safe and boring cos he needs to preserve or enhance is resume/CV. Hes a waste of space and time. Get rid of him.
who cares ?? if jack wouldve played he wouldve no doubt got crocked..let rooney et al go out brasshunting tonight..who cares anymore ?? not me…
nice to hear the dutch coach say that RVP is back training, squad looking fairly healthy for sat with denilson diaby, jack, cesc and nasri and song all fit in midfield, and hopefully charmhak fit enough to start up top
OMG England are simply CRAP…OMG Jack’s not injured; joy to the extreme on both counts.
Blessing in disguise. Jack picks up no injury but a lot of fire, like Theo, this episode will push his determination up another level and will be the catalyst to galvanise himself.
Must admit I was hoping welsher was gonna play, if I’d known he wouldn’t haven got a minute, I wouldn’t have watched the game, it was obvious sub, wilshere on for young, Barry sit in front of back 4, bit hey ho, I’m glad he’s ready for Birmingham, couldn’t care less about England tbh, full of tossers… Coyg
Hahaha Same old England and same old news. I was praying for England to lose at home. Great to know Jack is not injure and rested for sat game.
Diaby was great for france .
was impressed with Diaby, possibly their best player in the world cup too. But as for England…I dunno, was just frustration. There was no spark. Johnson was a waste of a role, he works best a substitute, the role should really have gone to someone like lennon tonight (would have said walcott if he was fit and ready) and there were gaps, more surprised than most, I can’t believe capello gave ferdinand the captaincy when he’s done nothing to earn it. England have played well whilst Gerrard has been captain and I don’t see why he should just take the band from his arm like this.
I will say though, the referee was absoultely *insert rude words here* I mean, he booked england players for the slightest thing and there was a blatent red card for one of their players. I’m absolutely positive someone tipped off that referee and linesman, no one can be that strict…or stupid. I literally couldn’t stop swearing at the screen in the pub
Too bad,ENGLAND TEAM are a true replica of the SUPER EAGLES OF NIGERIA OF EUROPE;no coordination bw midfield and attack,no style,no flavour,no creativity,Its all abt BIG NAMES OF FOOLS wit individual play….thank God wilshere was left out!who knws,my boy might get injurd
hear hear!
was it me or did anyone else here Capello talking about Wilshire yesterday?
He said he took him out the under 21 game, because he will use him from the bench, He is going to be the super sub.
Well atleast got him a game rest.
neone have any idea on Gibbs, Vermealen injury?
Haha
I will start by saying that I am english and as long as players like Davies are on the field in an England shirt, I won’t bother wasting my life by watching England play.
Capello isn’t right man to take us forward but then neither is ol’twitchy face. Nothing to do with the manager’s nationality all to do with tactics, management ability and flexibily.
The truth is Rooney is an out of form striker that needs benching. So happy lil’jack didn’t play and also escaped playing in kiddie game. Media will have to admit that we are a better side when Walcott plays, even if he doesn’t score.
It highlighted, as well, the differing standards of refereeing in the Premier League and elsewhere. Barry (forearm to opponent’s neck) and Davies (elbow to opponent’s neck) must be surprised they got yellows for what they would have gotten off in the league. That reduced their confidence and made them more cautious. It disrupt the momentum as well, cos fouls are being blown now and then.
so disgraceful as to how english guy place preference to arsenal than england which is suppose to be ur national pride,am a gunner dats why am here nd am so dissappointed cos guyz are nw so unpatriotic nd it makes me sick…get behind england, get behind cappello,lv arsenal,lv wilshere and lv wenger.
England stink as they have SUPER Stars like Wayne Rooney the Garbage and complete FLOP, Rio and Terry the IDIOT’s and an ITALIAN Coach for crying out aloud. England need WENGER.
at least… he can get a rest for coming Arsenal match… :S
Get your eyes off of Wenger. For a start he wouldn’t put up with those Rio two footed tackles and Rooney’s cynical scything, let alone let Davies into Greater London when England are playing at home, even as a spectator.
Hapless Harry wouldn’t be interested as he can’t make any money out of transfer deals. Rather see he of the animated kisser bring Sp*rs to their knees.
@Skye gunner:
Spot on mate.
eagland has a replica in the Super Eagles of nigeria, over reliance on old, and unhungry so called big stars, so predictable.

barry is so over rated! that guy had his moment to shine and now his time is up! he really did nothing that game apart from give the ball away. really thort capallo would have subd him for jack, but we see apello wont switch barry under any circumstances! i think switching to a 4-5-1 would be better for england, IMO.
Wilshere wasted.im glad he didn’t come on into that shower of shit last night,he will be fresh for the weekend where he is needed most, fuck england there shit.
Aaron Ramsey is back!!

does anyone have a pair of tickets for the birmingham match?
what a bunch of idiots, i support Arsenal and also support England, can’t beleive ppl did’nt want Wilshire to feature for england. thinks about it, the more games he plays the better for Arsenal, also i wanted england to win with our players in the team.
