Arsenal target Hazard signs new contract with Lille

Eden Hazard has responded to speculation linking him away from Lille by extending his contract with the Ligue 1 side until 2015.

The tricky attacker’s current contract with ‘Les Dogues’ runs until the summer of 2014, but Hazard has continually being linked with a move away from the French table toppers.

Hazard, dubbed “little Messi” by former coach Claude Puel, has indicated he would like to join Arsenal when he eventually leaves Lille and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has also previously confirmed his interest in the Belgium international.

Wenger rarely spends big in the transfer market, but the announcement of bumper profits at the club last year coupled with the his interest meant there was a genuine chance of a big-money deal.

In an interview with The Sun last week, Hazard revealed that he feels his footballing style is more suited to La Liga than the Premier League.
