Szczesny & Djourou return to training for Arsenal
Arsenal duo Wojciech Szczesny and Johan Djourou could make a timely return to fitness for Sunday’s crunch tie with Liverpool, after they began training for the first time since sustaining their respective injuries.
Szczesny, 20, dislocated his finger during the defeat to Barcelona in March and it was feared he may not play again this season, but manager Arsene Wenger confirmed after the win over Blackpool that he was close to a return and Szczesny himself also believes he is fit to play.
As for Djourou, the Swiss international looked to have finally put his injury problems behind him before a dislocated shoulder looked to have ruled him out for the season. However, the shoulder didn’t need surgery and he could be in contention for Sunday’s game at Emirates Stadium after resuming training yesterday morning.
Djourou’s fellow centre back, Thomas Vermaelen, has also been pencilled in for a return to training in a fortnight’s time, although he isn’t expected to make an appearance until pre-season.

I must one of the few fans who think Djourou is only average. he doesn’t know how to mark. loses his head and runs after every ball leaving his fellow defenders exposed.
if you watch his positional play you will see it his very poor.
i just think he along with kossa & squillachi should be gotten rid of and let’s buy some quality defenders. if you look back over the last few years you will see it is our goalies & our defenders who let us down.
When you consider we’ve had a better defensive record than Man U this season, with Vidic as a ‘Player of the season’ nominee, and that is without the Verminator all season and goalie probs, our defense has been great. Yes GREAT. I believe we haven’t lost a game with Djourou since 2008!
Verminator, Djourou and KOz are a brilliant trio for next season, with many seasons ahead of them. Szczesny has the presence of a top goalie and can fine tune his form with Lemon around. Still fancy our chances for the league. NEVER SAY DIE

Esiri, There is hope against Liverpool ? When wasn´t there a hope ?! We are a much better team than Liverpool and we will show that on sunday with a 4-0 win.
DJ20 might be poor in positioning at times, d way he followed chicharito to keep him on while they scored d 1st goal against us instead of keeping him offside proves that but he is the best we’ve got this season and can’t wait to have him and my number 1 keeper back. Atleast i can watch matches with less fear of what error will happen next since they (dj20 and szcezny) bring coordination to the back and we put the bombs waiting to explode where they belong, bench.
